Rated 3 out of 5 by from A decent beginner shoe. I bought a full size down and it works This shoe is good through climbs rated at 5.8, but you will start to feel limited by the rounded sole, and hence the lack of edging, once you get into some 5.9 routes and definitely 5.10 routes. Quality: after about a half dozen trips to the climbing gym and outdoors some of the seams are already starting to wear out. Sizing: I am a 10.5 in normal shoes, but bought a 9.5. I would say it stretched about a half size after a couple trips so now feels about a half size small walking around, which is good because it is tight enough to keep my feet and toes solid in pockets, but comfortable enough so I don't have to take them off between climbs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for Moderate Climbers I really do love my coyote lace-ups and they are a great shoe but not for an avid climber. I am at the climbing gym 2-4 times a week and after owning these shoes for 5 months they are already wearing down pretty bad. They have really great stick once they are heated up and I really enjoy that about them. Another problem I have had with these shoes is that while I was crack climbing, after a month or so of owning them, one of the shoes developed a seam rip on the outer part of it. Over all they are a really good shoe but not for someone who climbs as often as I do. Plus, I really hope you like having red feet after every climb :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great beginner shoe that does have advanced application These were my first climbing shoes and no matter what, they were way better than rented shoes or just tennis shoes. After owning two more pairs of shoes - the Pontas by evolv, and the Solution by la sportiva - I have come to realize that these were a great buy for a beginner shoe. You can lace it up really tight and it smears and crack climbs pretty well. Realize that THESE SHOES WILL STRETCH. I got mine 1.5 sizes smaller than I would normally wear and now they are very confortable and serve as great all day shoes. Knowing what I know now, I might go 2 sizes smaller than normal, but i'm fine where they are now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from really good shoe, but dont expect top of the line. These are my first pair of climbing shoes, for a beginner these are very helpful shoes. I wear a 12.5 size street shoe and bought a pair of 11.5. I recommend going a whole size and a half smaller then ur street shoe, so if u wear a size 12, go for a 10.5. For the first week it may be a little painful but after the week of breaking them in they can pretty much handle anything u really need on an inddor wall. I really encourage beginners to look into these shoes. The only this i dont like about these shoes though is that they dye my foot red everyday after use but other then that i give em' 2 thumbs up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid shoe, hope you like Red Feet It's my newest in a long lineage of climbing shoes. I really like them- nice tight fit and rubber as sticky as fresh...never mind. Needless to say, they're sticky. I've taken them to the crags and gym about a dozen times so far. Under moderate usage they seem to be wearing nicely. The edge will probably become fully rounded after a couple dozen more climbing days. But the bottoms still smear wonderfully. I'll miss that edge when it's gone, but until then, they edge beautifully. Be ready to have bright red feet when you take them off. They like to share their coloring.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent shoe, but you will want more later The biggest shortcoming off this shoe though, past all rather minor performance issues, is that this shoe will fall apart on you. Even with heavy gym climbing, the sitching along the shoe will gradually become undone. It's something minor, but this shoe really needs heavy duty stitching along the sides (especially). In my case, the stitching started to fall apart well before the shoe sole wore all the way through. This is further aggravated if you tighten your laces. I've been told that a quick fix to this situation is to sew it shut using nylon thread.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recently Purchased, loving them more and more! I purchased the 5.10 Coyote Lace-up's after a few years of using friends climbing shoes. After getting used to wearing super tight toe crunching shoes I decided to go with a 9.5, a full size smaller than my street shoe. They were perfect for the fit I was looking for, very snug with a slight toe curl. These shoes are extremely comfortable and became more comfortable after a few uses. They do bleed the color a bit onto your foot but it washes off easily. Overall no complaints thus far and they have made a great first rock climbing shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool Looking, Good Fit. Very adjustable, and comfortable shoe. I bought this shoe for my significant other, and she seems to dig them significantly. They are comfortable to her feet and stick well, with the C4 rubber. With the lace-up type of shoe, you can keep the shoe tight to your foot while tailoring it to your specifics ie wide toes, narrow heel, narrow toes, cankles, 6th toe, etc.. The only... weird... thing about it is the red dye - it dyes your foot a little when you sweat. But that's just cool anyway. Two thumbs up.
