Pros vs Cons = an Alright JacketInitial Review: Mackinaw Work Jacket - Navy Blue - Size Small
Pros: Solid Mackinaw wool material, great for the mildly chilly/damp winters in South East Alaska, heavy duty zipper and button quality, partial interior cotton liner for comfort.
Cons: Interior sleeve liner is too thin to prevent arms from an itchy wool feeling, sleeves have one button which I find to be too loose fitting, neck and collar portion is quite scratchy at the base of the neck and are not lined, the pockets are located pretty high as in above my belly button where I have to make more than a 90 degree angel with my arms in order to put my hands in them...think chicken wings.
All in all for the price, I'd buy a different jacket 100%. I feel there should be a few changes in the jacket, for example. I may add a bit of velcro to the collar in order to keep it up and add another sleeve cuff slit, possibly add a new liner that does a better job at preventing scratchy wool to skin contact, add some softer material to the collar. If those things are done and work well then this would be a great jacket in my opinion. The only other thing I would change is to lower the pockets so you dont look like a chicken preparing to pluck some food off the ground. Seriously the top of the pockets are about an inch and a half below my nipples.
My measurements are:
Neck 14" 1/4
Sleeve 34" 1/4
