Awesome CoatI've only had it a month so can't personally vouch for its longevity, but you can tell it will last forever. It's very comfortable and besides looking cool the collar makes for a cozy fit around the neck even down to the teen's when it's cold out. I tried a few sizes and can say for sure that you want to get the correct "suit size" that fits your shoulders. I'm pretty skinny but have broad shoulders and needed the proper shoulder fit to be comfortable even though it makes the body of the coat a bit bigger. Wool coat are designed to be layered under, so that's another reason to have some space between you and the coat. Love my Filson Packer and look forward to decades of use from it.

Too comfortable to pass upI actually purchased both the double mackinaw and the packer to make a decision between the two. The mac was more conventional looking, but the packer just felt so nice to wear it was the clear winner. The collar flips up high enough to even block the wind on my ears if I wish.
The quality of both the packer and the double mac was flawless.

Great JacketI have worn this jacket in below zero weather to the office and in the great outdoors. Performs, rugged, and looks great. Filson makes great products and Moosejaw follows through.

Filson Wool Packer CoatThis is an amazingly warm and aesthetically pleasing coat!
Hello, Would you please let me know the sleeve lengths on both the 38 and the 40? I would be picking this jacket up for around town not for dragging a Caribou carcass over 15 miles of sub-arctic tundra or building a log cabin just south of Deadhorse.

Thanks for reaching out to us! I managed to snag a size 40 and measure it, but as for the 38, we actually don't have that in stock. When an order is placed for that item, we get it directly from Filson, so we don't have that size readily available. But, the 40 is right here! the top of the sleeve, to the collar seam, is 31". the bottom of the sleeve, all the way to the jacket flap's end is 33". Hope this helped you out!
