Tough-as-nails, easy on the eyes, a little spendyI've used this bag for both airline travel and a few camping / canoeing trips and can attest to its bulletproof-ed-ness. It survives luggage handlers and truck beds alike. ,,,,Because of its dimensions, it'll pretty much have to be a checked bag, but it makes it through with just a few scuffs. Over time it will develop a bit of a patina from small nicks and marks, but nothing serious enough to compromise its waterproofing. Mud comes off with a simple wipedown.,,,,Material is tough in the right way and a little unruly at first, but with time it breaks in. Would recommend leaving it open for a day or two upon arrival to let the rubber smell dissipate.,,,,NB: When the top is unrolled, the bag's depth and opacity can make it a little dark to pack carefully, so it might be best to don a headlight to make the best use of the ample interior space.
