The Exped Venus II Tent is a two person tent for the backcountry. Two doors and two vestibules allow you and your tent buddy to get in and out with ease. Store your gear away from theirs, so you don't have to mix up boots. The interior features mesh pockets, so you don't lose your headlamp or crush your glasses. Guy it out and hunker down when the wind and rain kicks up, snoozing through the bad weather.

Has held up to many years of useI purchased this tent in 2004 for a backpacking trip in the Alps. Two people with gear fit comfortably, and the vestibules are a good size to hold packs. This was by far the biggest tent I had purchased up to this point as I usually went for ultralight minimalist tents and I was amazed at both the overall size of the tent and how well it packed for a 'larger' tent. The quality of materials and craftsmanship are top of the line, as I expected from Exped. Ten years after I first purchased it, I am taking my daughter camping in it. It is still 100% waterproof even in heavy downpours that resulted in flash flooding, the poles are all still straight and the tent body is almost like new. I take good care of my equipment but put it through hard use and this tent has never failed me. Awesome tent!

If inner tent hangs from fly, can you remove the rainfly? I like its fabric inner doors for privacy w/o rainfly. I go on multi-day river trips, often in dry weather w/other peeps. I want a tent that gives privacy + ventilation w/o rainfly unless it's wet!

Howdy! I'm sorry to report that it is not possible to separate the rain fly from this tent. They're completely attached. There are other tents on our website that provide some privacy with ventilation with the rain fly off though. I'll email you with some suggestions.
