Picnic Blanket 2.0I love it. It's on of those things it doesn't seem like you need but then when you have it you use it all the time. I mostly use it to throw down on some grass and fall asleep and read. It's also good in front of a tent or to put my sleeping pad down on when I want to sleep under the stars with no tent. I have breakfast on it sometimes, like a breakfast nook. Its super light but I wouldn't bring it backpacking and I wouldn't sleep on it by itself either; it is too thin for that. I just like to use it for car camping and hanging out outside and whatever. I guess it could also be used as a shelter, insulation, all kinds of stuff. And you can stake it out, which I do all the time.

Pad has many different usesThe Multimat is quite a handy item to have on a trip. It will serve just about any purpose you can conceive. On most of my winter time trips, I use it to sit on while preparing my meals and use it as a tent mat to extend my sleeping pad R value. The mat seems to be pretty tough but you have to watch what type of ground you are going to put it on. Mine showed signs of little chunks of foam missing from the bottom on the first trip. The ground was covered with small sticks and stones. That being said, I think it is worth the small weight that it adds to the pack. The pad is not indestructible but will last a long time if you show a little care with regard to how you use it.

Great multipurpose pad.I can see this mat serving many purposes. I've only had it out a couple times, but it definitely has potential. I use it primarily as a "carpet" to line the bottom of the tent—adding some insulation and added comfort. I don't see this replacing my Thermarest, and one wouldn't expect it to. Overall a great addition to my kit.
