DECENT FEATURES of the Air Mat by Exped

Low profile FlatValves (pat. pend), one for inflation and the other for deflation ensure ease of use. As the valves are flat and not on the mat's edge they do not protrude and are therefore protected and durable.
Laminated polyester fabric is both durable, airtight and humidity resistant. The shell's top surface is of brushed polyester fabric that provides excellent slip resistance and comfort next to the skin.
The seams are high frequency welded for durability.
Included: repair kit with adhesive and fabric patches.
Small packaged size: the mats are folded in quarters and rolled to minimize size.
The R-value of all uninsulated air mats, like AirMat 7.5, can be enhanced by placing a fleece jacket or other clothing under the mat.
AirMat 7.5 is excellent for use in warmer climates and on trips where reduced weight is important.
AirMat 7.5 can be inflated by mouth or with Exped Pillow Pump or Exped Mini Pump

"It's not baffled." 07/17/11

Exped mats that are "7 Pump" have a baffled construction, which means there's a wall separating each tube of air. Exped 7.5 mats, like this one, are welded through, meaning in between each tube of air, it's pinched shut. I have both types of mats from Exped and they unfortunately DO NOT offer the Airmat in a 7 Pump version. The result of this weld through construction is it feels a bit like a raft. It is unstable and bumpy. This mat is the highest quality, super durable, extremely small packed up and the surface is non-slip, but the comfort is not there for me. I still prefer it over Big Agnes, which IS baffled, but I wish Exped made this in a baffled version like they do on their Synmats.

"For the price...." 07/19/10

...A good product for the price. So far it's been on several backpacking trips, and it's held up well (no rips or tears). Extremely lite, and packs well. The repair kit is also a plus.
