Perfect for hiking and trail ridingI was especially happy to take these with me on vacation in Yellowstone and Tetons in summer 2015. The mosquitos and other insects were out in full force and I was not bothered while wearing these pants.
They fit like jeans (not cargo pants) and were perfect for travel.

PerfectWow. I bought these to wear in heavy tick and mosquito country to do botany field work, but they are just about the best-fitting pants I own. A nice surprise! I am obnoxiously picky about comfort, as well as style, so, like many women, I try on MANY pants and jeans trying to find the perfect fit and look. Amazingly, these do it. I have a slender, straight-ish figure (5'-7", 110 lb., 33"-26"-33") and the size 2 fits my figure PERFECTLY. The rise is high enough (most pants aren't for my long torso) with no excess fabric through the hips or crotch which is often a problem for straight-hipped ladies -- no wedgie at all either. Huge yay! Slim legs on these. Yay. Not like skinny jeans (which I love) mind you, but I'm not looking for the skinny-jean look in this type of utilitarian pant. The cotton/poly fabric has great stretch and recovery. Very comfortable -- and quiet -- to walk as well as squat in (important for field work) and overall they are just miles ahead style-wise from the usual field-type pants out there. They have deep front pockets -- yay again. Jean styling, but honestly they look and fit well enough to be go-out-to dinner pants. They look and feel so great I am willing to overlook some nit-picking details. For real field work, not just casual wear, it would be nice to have rear cargo pockets -- not just jean-style ones -- and maybe a side-of-the thigh pocket as well. If you could make these in stretchy, insect-shield denim (is there such a thing?) as well, that would be welcome addition! I am embarrassingly effusive about these pants.

nice pantsNice pants, but the fit pulled in the crotch, so the fit looked funny. I like the fabric, but it's a bit expensive.

Gap at waistI want to like these pants since they would travel well. I found the waist large. This could be altered but I will probably return the pants. I would have been happier with the style if the pants had a bit of a taper.

Strange fitLet me start by saying that I absolutely love the Kukura pants. I bought this style mostly because they come in white. I am very disappointed because the fit is not good. Bought the same size as I wear in Kurkura (4). These have a big waist, thighs too tight, and you can see right through them. Another size won't fix it. Too bad they just don't fit me.
