The Evolv Men's Defy Lace Climbing Shoe is an entry level climbing shoe that may just stick with you for life. The Defy Lace begins with an asymmetrical profile and pretty flat bottom for comfort that secures tight with a standard lace that begins at the toe. The synthetic leather upper with nylon and leather footbed is comfortable and won't stretch too much as you figure out the ropes and rock. The TRAX® high friction rubber is great for smearing and a flat toe is prepared for cracks and foot jams. The durable VTR rand is thicker in the toe area to increase the life of the shoe. So comfy, so solid, so affordable.

great trad shoe- comfortable, good if you have wide feetI have relatively wide feet so finding comfortable climbing shoes is hard for me. If you also have this problem then the defy lace-ups are for you. I may be a chick, but the men's are wider than the women's so who cares if they aren't pink? These are comfortable and the lack of downturn makes them a great trad shoe. If you're looking to climb 13's- these aren't the shoe for you, but if you've just started out- or might be in climbing shoes for 2+ pitches- check these out

Good enoughThis shoe does a swell job for digging your toe into those small pieces. However, the shape is a bit awkward on the foot and will take some getting used to. Good for the price that it is, and good beginners. The color pattern is not bad either.
