"All around great shoe, flexible enough for indoor, rugged enough for outdoor"

Even tho you may look like a middle schooler with your velcro shoes, they are very useful!!! you can unstrap quickly to walk around the gym and flirt with all the climbing girls, or kick em off to hike to the next climbing spot on the mountain and you sure can't beat the price for the shoe you get!!! Hope this helps
"Good enough for gym climbing, but funky..."

I wore these for a couple of months, and in that time I found a couple of things I *hated* about them. 1) they are funky as hell. If you don't lysol them, they get pretty crazy pretty quickly. This is not a problem with my Mad Rock Phoenix's. 2) Not sure what is going on with the heel- it feels like it fits ok, but after a few routes, my right heel is *screaming*. Strange, because that *never* happens with my Phoenix's.That said, they're good enough for some bouldering and stuff in the gym. It's nice to be able to slap em on instead of taking the time to set the laces and tie 'em up, but there are a ton of other velcro shoes out there.
Comfortable enough for multi-pitch or long gym sessions. No problems with velcro getting snagged in cracks. Sure, they get smelly, but who really cares?
These were my first pair of climbing shoes and ive got to say, this shoe is awesome for the price that it is offered at. The fit is super comfy and you dont have to downsize at all cause these synthetic shoes dont stretch. I actually wear them in a 10.5 which is about the same as my street shoe size. The eco trax rubber is really sticky and the best part is..... it's recycled. It is great at smearing and decent at edging. the soles are soft so the shoe is very plyable and it is way solid for heal hooking as well. if i were looking to buy a first shoe i would definetly start here
These were my first climbing shoe. I bought them for the price and the comfort, and soon realized I had purchased too large a size. The place I got them from let me switch them for a smaller size, but even still I found they just fit weird. I wear a size 10 in vans slip-ons, and I got a 9.5 the second time around. The heel cup was baggy, even though my toes were slightly curled. The rubber wasn't the stickiest either. I guess they're fine as a gym shoe, but not very high-performance.
These are your basic climbing shoe. I would recommend them, but you might also want to invest in some Gold Bond so as to fend off the stench that sets in quickly after use.BUT they're a good pair of shoes, the toe is super pointy, which is great for those tiny footchips. One could wish for more in the heel, but unless you plan on serious hooking, don't worry about it.Overall, I would buy them again.
The evolv defy is a great, economical shoe for those looking for their first pair of climbing shoes. They are good at edging, which is important for those starting out and are quite sensitive as well. One thing I like about the defy's is that they are lined, so they are really comfortable. The rubber is pretty durable, and will allow you to climb at most grades without issue. All in all a great shoe.
I bought these for a starter shoe. Im just starting out climbing but so far they rock! I've been using them on small bouldering wall and they work great!
"Good shoe for beginners but smell after use."

I have been climbing for about 4 or 5 months now and these are the first shoes I bought. There still going strong for me although my first pair started to come unglued at the heel. Luckily, moosejaw hooked me up with a new pair!!! The new pair is also coming apart their but not as bad and it hasnt been a problem. I think that these are comfortable for climbing shoes and seem to have decent performance. I have had not problem with these shoes as performance goes. The lining in them really starts to smell awful so you may want to spray these bad boys with some frebreeze!
