Up NorthI really got to put this jacket to the test in northern Michigan. The temperature ranged from low single digits all the way up to mid 30’s so I got to test out the breathability along with its durability. The weather I experienced was a little bit of everything, sunshine, snow and freezing drizzle. I put this jacket through the ringer over the weekend by riding my snowmobile through power line easements full of fresh powder and through the dense back country trails. In the past this diverse terrain has claimed many of my gore-tex hard shell’s. I was astonished when I checked after to see it was unharmed, not even a scratch on it! I wish the hood was a little larger and had a more defined storm flap to protect my face from water and snow run off. It was a heavier jacket so it was great in the low temperatures. I wore the jacket with some medium weight wool base layers and it was comfortable. It was great in the wet snow and its breathability was decent. After riding 150 miles on the trails and walking across a few frozen lakes I can honestly say I am impressed with this jacket!
