Moosejaw Staff Pick "When the Eagles Nest DoubleNest Hammock isn't hanging out in my backyard, I take it on all my spring and summer camping trips. The DoubleNest is way more comfortable than lying in a tent, and super easy to set up. I definitely recommend the insect screen though. Bugs suck." Matt - Moosejaw Secret Headquarters
Moosejaw Staff Pick "Earlier this summer I went on a bachelor party camping trip, and though it was great time, our group of 8 were heavily burdened by the tents we were taking. No Hubba Hubbas here. I'm talking large 6-man domes that were so old that we needed to bring extra blue tarps in case of inclement weather. Granted, we could've saved ourselves some trouble by not insisting that we bring three, but carrying just one of those beasts for a few miles will turn your arms to rubber. It was on the hike back to the cars that I decided to invest in ENO. My next trip was completely different.
The Eagles Nest Outfitters double-nest with slap-straps and fast-fly rainshield are awesome. I also have the mosquito net, though I haven't had to use it yet. All the pieces together weigh about 5 lbs, and everything is phenomenally compressible so I was able to fit and/or lash everything to my pack. NO RUBBER ARMS! Setup is as easy as finding two trees, and the slap straps provide extra feet to allow more options for lashing up the hammock. The Double Nest is really big enough for two, but you have to really like each other (really). The rain fly provides great cover and since the hammock is off the ground, there is plenty of dry ground underneath the fly for cooking or storing your pack. Get the ENO system and never worry about helping people carry their dumb tents again." Matthew - Moosejaw Secret Headquarters
The DoubleNest hammock by Eagle Nest makes you want to snuggle. With two-feet of extra width than the SingleNest, the DoubleNest allows room for one, two, three, or however you decide to pack 400lbs. The DoubleNest seats more than one person comfortably and is essential for family adventures. The DoubleNest still packs down to the size of a grapefruit, so there is no excuse to be without your ENO hammock.
Have had this hammock for about 2 years now and use it every chance I get. Absolutely love it! It has been through sun, rain, and snow and I have never once had a problem with it. I went with the doublenest for myself because it offers more room for a sleeping bag and doesn't get as crowded in it. Very pleased with it so far and will be for more years to come.
This hammock is the perfect size for 1-1.5 people. I found the SingleNest to be just a little too small and the DoubleNest deluxe a little too big. The DoubleNest is absolutely perfect for lounging, sleeping, camping, sitting, swinging, and eating. I accidentally got a little hole in the bottom of the hammock (about the size of a small quarter or large nickel) about 50 uses ago. Over that time the hole hasn't gotten any larger.
I bought this for my 21 year old brother for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. He is big on outdoorsy stuff and camping. I am so glad I got him this! It is such a great quality and can fit two people - which is great for my brother and his girlfriend. The pack wraps up into the tiniest little ball, which is perfect for throwing it into your hiking bag. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't come with straps. However, this is such a good deal by itself that it is completely forgivable. You can get the Eagle Nest brand straps at Moosejaw (or go to any outdoor store) and attach them no problem. Overall, great buy. I might buy one for my other brother next Christmas, as well!
I have used this hammock all year around camping and just hanging around in the yard. I absolutely love it. I used to be lost in life but now I am fine now that i have this awesome hammock. This hammock is so much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. Who sleeps on the ground anymore! Buy this hammock and stop sleeping on the ground like weird people.
Ideal for literally all times and places. All my friends had one on our last climbing trip and I spent more time in the hammock than I did sending. (Whoops!) Go for the double, even if you're flying solo--if anything you can use it to make friends :)
I received one of these as a gift last year. Prior to that I'd been using a Hennessy (which I loved). I've certainly been converted over to ENO...the setup is much faster and it seems more comfy (and quiet). I can't say enough about this hammock - worth the money, easy setup, light weight, packs small = Perfect!
What can I say, it's a hammock. The parachute material is very strong, packs down nice and small, and breathes well so it you keep from getting too sweaty in the heat. It is so comfortable I actually replaced my bed with this, and have slept much better every night since.Things to do in an eno: nap, snuggle, do homework, read, impress your friends, camp, just about anything else Things to NOT do in an eno: stand up, make a fire
I went with the double, and it might be the best decision ever made... Lots of room for a sleeping bag, a woman, a bear, anything really. You name it there's room for it. My only complaint is how cold your butt, and back can get in cooler temperatures because of the breeze blowing under you. I bought a 20 degree bag, and would get cold on 40 degree nights. Not fun. But the hammock really is awesome! It's great for just chilling or summer camping.
