"Versatile, durable, light, great features"
This is my favorite pack of all time and I've been hammering it for about two years and its tough as nails. Great features - side zip for water bottle, food or maps; top loading but also has full back zipper so you can easily get to your stuff at the bottom. Carries well and has an outer stuff-style pouch for extra layers. You can hike, climb, do a short overnight, take it too the pool. You name it. If you live somewhere hot - the Aero 32 is the same version with turbo back venting. For hiking in the Sierra - this pack is the perfect combo or comfort and back-venting. One size fits all kinda pack!
I have done everything from day hikes to 3 day backpacking trips with this pack. It's super light and can fit a lot. I do a lot of fly fishing trips with this pack and there is enough room to fit all of my gear and my fly rod case attaches to the side straps perfectly. I would recommend it for any adventure!
I want to love this bag, because it has great storage, versatile pockets, and an easy access U shaped zipper for the main compartment. It's perfect for backpacking and staying in hostels. Unfortunately, at 6' 1" the bag is not tall enough for me. I have the shoulder straps lengthened all the way so the pack is resting properly on my waist/hips, but the shoulder padding doesn't reach far enough around my shoulders. This results in the non-padded nylon strap to cut into the front of my shoulders and underarms. I need an adjustable spine like on my 50 + 10 Deuter ACT lite pack.Really fantastic bag if you are a shorter person though!
I bought this pack with intentions of using it as a daypack and possibly some overnight trips. Comparing different models, I felt this one had nearly everything you could want in a pack without being over-the-top. The construction seems durable - only time will tell with that. One of the only drawbacks I saw, that other models in the price range offered, was a bottom compartment. Also, others had two buckling, adjustable straps, to fasten a sleeping bag or climbing rope to the bottom. However, I purchased some adjustable straps and engineered a makeshift solution. It comes with the rain cover which is a huge plus. It's super comfortable and padded and I can foresee this being my main pack for the next few years. Big enough to hold everything you need for a few days, but small enough where it isn't cumbersome when climbing or hiking. I'd recommend to anyone in the market for this style pack.
