Got these for my surgery rotation, notorious for not allowing med students to eat lunch. Well the joke's on you, surgeons, I ate a builder bar every morning and my stomach didn't even growl once during those 15+ hr days. These also taste alright. The chocolate mint one was refreshing and perfect for those moments after the boss-man hit you on the knuckles with an instrument for moving while retracting and chocolate was the only answer.
In terms of protein bars, usually the more protein you get the worse the taste. So when i was given a bar with 20g of protein a figured it would be throwing this away after a few bites but surprisingly this bar tastes amazing. Cookies and Cream, Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chocolate are my favorites, great for a quick piece of fuel on the trail or as a way to keep your nutrients up in between meals.
These are pretty good as energy bars go. They are very filling and great after a hard workout. They taste pretty good, not as good as the regular clif bars though. They do manage to pack an incredible amount of protein and other nutrients into them though, so it sort of makes up for the taste. My only problem is that one flavor starts to get old fast when you have a dozen of them.
They're not too bad as far as energy bars go. They're not the tastiest thing I would ever want to eat, but then I've never seen anyone who has been able to make an energy bar out of whipped cream, my girlfriend, and Olivia Wilde. If you ever find an energy bar made out of the above, let me know... but don't eat it or I will be mad at you.
I can't saw anything nice about the flavors other than Chocolate, since we've never met, but those chocolate bars are damn tasty. Instead of that lovely compressed cardboard and woodglue texture you get with other protein bars, these are nice and crunchy without a nasty aftertaste. Added bonus - they don't crush easily or all apart in your pack (the throwers at the airport didn't destroy the ones in the outside of my pack on the last trip I took) and if you decided to make a home in the backcountry they would make good building material which you could eat in a pinch.
