"Only shoes" 09/26/12
A few years ago, I went on a 100 mile kayak trip in Croatia, then spent a week doing touristy stuff in Spain, then went to Ireland for a week. These were the only shoes I brought and I never regretted it. The only thing that is slightly annoying is that it really does take some time to break them in. You need to get the straps perfectly adjusted to your foot, and it takes usually many adjustments in the first few weeks to get them right. Then, sometimes after you get them wet, they change. I recommend getting them perfectly adjusted, then getting them wet and walking through the sand. The sand gets wedged in the creases and holds it into place.
"A sturdy and supportive shoe" 08/28/12
I just recently bought a pair of these and it took me a little while to adjust the straps, but after that, they fit great. The arch is very supportive and I don't feel bad wearing sandals that aren't bad for my feet. The only problem I had is that the one strap over the ball of my foot seems to rub, no matter how tight or loose I adjust it. But that just may be me.
"get the tan" 05/08/11
Love these! I lifeguard at a lake during the summer and standing on a dock all day is killer on your feet and back. I wear my chacos and that fixes it. My chacos keep my back and feet from hurting after a day of standing. Also the super wicked tan lines.
"perfect approach shoes" 01/13/11
I bought some of these sandals to wear on the approach trails for climbing. I hated lugging around my climbing shoes, flip flops and my running shoes to wear on the trail up. With these, I wore them up the trails and between climbs so I didn't have to carry that extra pair of shoes. I recently bought a new pair without the toe strap. The toe strap wasn't bad but it just bothered me and it was a hassel to get the sandal on. I like the one without the toe strap much better. I also love how i can get them extremely dirty and just wash them off with a hose. Ohh and they are extremely comfortable and they have excellent traction so they were great going up and down hills on the trail.
"I love them" 01/11/11
I do a lot of mild hikeing during the late spring and earlly fall and I dont like wearing hiking shoes so when i first say these i was like yes! i love them to death and besides just wearing them hiking i also use them as my water shoes and I even wear them to school and just to walk around. They may be expencive but they are very good quality and I think there tottaly worth it. The only problem i have with them is that they start to smell bad after a while so I just but some soap on them and warsh them with the hose and them there good.
"LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes!" 01/05/11
I got these and wore them literally around the world. They are perfect for hiking, fun in the sun, or even just going to class or walking around town. plus you get a really cool tanline from them that will make the kids jealous. seriously the greatest shoes ever!
"Great sandal, definitely recommend!" 12/31/10
I have this product with blue straps. I love the color! The sandal is very comfortable. At first I thought the sole was quite heavy, but now I don't even notice it. They seem to form to my foot. I would wear these anywhere!
"Who said you can't wear socks with sandals?!" 01/10/10
after much convincing from my hardcore adventuring mother (and against my most frugal of instincts) i purchased the zx/1 last summer. i purchased them for recreational bike riding and once i wore them the first time i was hooked!! they are both durable and comfortable enough for anything from hiking zion national to wearing to work, even through the long winters. they do run a little small, so i recommending ordering a half-size up. A MUST BUY!!
"Best overall sandal on earth--deserves a door prize" 12/07/09
PROS: ~Toughes sandal on the market. Durable and dependable (you'll never break this shoe).~Very cute and sexy sandal--the double strap is super cute.~Your toe can remain intact.~Foot (seply bottom of foot) can breathe better than in ZX/2.~Great for hiking and water sports. I wear them everywhere.~You'll be cooler once you're in the Chaco family.CONS:~I don't recommend them in the snow...though one of my friends loves wearing them in the snow? ~If you have sensetive feet the top of the sole can be irritating until your foot is used to it.
"Best sandals I've ever owned." 07/12/09
This is my first pair of Chacos, and I am very pleased! I received them as a gift and had no idea about the whole "every part of the sandal is adjustable" feature, but I'm super stoked about it. I feel like a big girl now that I've graduated up from velcro sandals... I used to wear another similar brand (that begins with "T" and ends with "eva"), but they wore out after only about a year of usage. I am also a huge fan of the arch support Chacos provide. All in all great quality!
"Third Time's a Charm" 03/28/09
This is my third pair of Chacos and they're the best yet! I like having my toes free to wiggle but the support to keep everything together. I work in a preschool and I'll still be able to chase down kiddos or hike some wicked trails in these bad boys. Love em!
