*Measure over your undergarments for best results

CHEST: Measure under your arms and across your shoulder blades while holding the tape firm and level. If your chest measurement is between sizes, buy the next size up.

WAIST: Measure around your natural waistline, this time keeping the tape comfortably loose.

INSEAM: Measure pants that fit you well. Lay them on a flat surface, with the front and back creased smooth. Measure along the inseam from the crotch to bottom of leg hem. You can also measure the correct inseam length without pants by measuring from your crotch to the pant length you would prefer.

TALL SIZES: For Carhartt's tall sizes, the garments are two inches longer in the length and sleeve than their regular size garments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nice jacket with long sleeves This like all Carhartt products is of good quality and is a good jacket for those days where a heavy jacket doesn't fit the bill. In snowbelt states this jacket is ideal for Spring and early Fall. My one issue with the jacket is the sleeves are very long for instance in Large size they run about 2 inches longer than you are used to, this sleeve length would be expected on a Tall size but not regular sizes. I will have to return the jacket do to the sleeves being too long.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Long, Fat Arms? This jacket is for you! I did not heed previous reviews and bought this jacket anyway. The sizing is weird. I bought a large and it fit my like an XL would. The sleeves are long and wide. I realize now that you can see in the model photo how much fabric there is in his left arm pit and despite his right arm being bent, the sleeve is still visibly overflowing with fabric. So if you have long, fat arms, I think this jacket will fit you well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm jacket for fall and wind This jacket does not dissapoint. I got this just as it turned into fall up here in Fargo and walking around in the wind It keeps me plaenty warm. It's durable and has a comfortable fit except for the sleeves. I don't know who they measured it for but when I reach my arms out I'm still a few inches from seeing my wrists. I have short arms but this is still weirdly long. Otherwise no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Indoor Work This jacket is perfect for anyone working indoors where it is slightly cool. I work in a grocery store and it gets pretty cold working in the dairy and frozen food coolers. I was wearing my Detroit Jacket for it, but it was too warm outside of the coolers and I would start sweating. This mid weight jacket is perfect. It keeps me warm in the coolers but not too warm out on the floor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strangely long sleeves I'll have to return it for a small because the sleeves are so long. I don' wear a small in any other jacket, but looks like I'll have to try it with this one (and hope my gut will still fit). Nice cut, better quality than Red Cap. But this reasonably priced jacket is becoming expensive since Carhartt doesn't cover any postage coming or going on exchanges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice feeling comforting Jacket My GF got me this J293 Twill work Jacket in Navy Blue for X MAS 2011. I have wore this Jacket over a dozen times. It is amazing. It feels very nice. Its easy to move around it. Rain beads off of it. I can drive in my truck and not have to take it off because it dosen't ride up like the coats tend to do. This jacket is more of a warmer weather jacket. When its under 40 it can be a little too cold for this jacket by itself so I throw under a sweat shirt. I have other jackets/coats from carhartt for colder weather but this jacket I have been wearing most of the time because it has not really been cold enough to wear my others. I also, now always seem to grab this jacket more as it looks nice to go out in and I can feel comfy going out and leaving it on the entire time. Overall this jacket is amazing and I will have it for years to come. I will end up buying more and put my company name on it so I can get rid of the red kapp twill jackets and get more of these in black for work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs large! I get nervous about Carhartt purchases online because their sizing can be so wonky, as is the case here. I'm usually a men's L but sometimes fall between L and M, depending on the item and manufacturer. Thanks to previous reviewers, I ordered the M and am glad I did. Besides being a size too large overall, the sleeves are still incredibly long. Meanwhile, it's low-waisted, sitting somewhat below the belt. But that's all small potatoes. This thing looks sharp; it's sleek and professional but not pretentious. This would go very well with men's work uniforms. As a teacher, I'll be able to wear cotton pants and even dressy slacks, along with shirt and tie, and this jacket will complete the ensemble. That said, you could wear this to a construction site and still fit in. Talk about versatile. This isn't something you'll wear when it's below 45 degrees or so (at least, not without layering). It's perfect, however, for fall and spring. This is a great buy. At this price, I'm seriously considering another one in a different color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good mid-weight jacket I purchased this jacket for mid-seasons when the winter coat was too heavy and the golf jacket was too light. The first night I wore this jacket it was 32 degrees with a 20 MPH wind. This jacket kept my torso toasty warm and broke the wind very well. My arms did get just a bit chilly because they are not quilted. The jacket material is heavy duty and looks like it will stand up for a very long time and the jacket is very well made. The only down side is the sizing. I am 6'3" tall and slender. My normal sport coat is 42 Long and I must purchase my shirts in a tall man's store due to the length of my arms, so I purchased a Medium Tall jacket. The jacket fits well in the shoulders, the chest and has a nice snugness across the hips. The only problem is in the sleeves. The sleeves reach way down to my knuckles. That is not a deal breaker, but just be warned, the sleeves are very long. I may have been able to get away with a standard Medium jacket. All in all this jacket is a very good value and Carhartt customer service is second to none. They went out of their way to make sure I got the jacket I wanted.
