*Measure over your undergarments for best results

CHEST: Measure under your arms and across your shoulder blades while holding the tape firm and level. If your chest measurement is between sizes, buy the next size up.

WAIST: Measure around your natural waistline, this time keeping the tape comfortably loose.

INSEAM: Measure pants that fit you well. Lay them on a flat surface, with the front and back creased smooth. Measure along the inseam from the crotch to bottom of leg hem. You can also measure the correct inseam length without pants by measuring from your crotch to the pant length you would prefer.

TALL SIZES: For Carhartt's tall sizes, the garments are two inches longer in the length and sleeve than their regular size garments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Summer Jacket Ever Alaska has the some of the harshest and most extreme weather in the world. This jacket has handled well. We get 50 below F so it isnt a winter jacket...i use a different Carhartt for that. However, for spring summer and fall I would recommend this jacket to anyone. It keeps you dry even in very wet conditions. Easily the most stylish rain coat available...trust me, i gotta be looking good! Every Alaskan appreciates the value of Carhartt...i will continue to be a proud customer. I received a winter coat over 15 years ago in 8th grade and have used it ever since for construction...aside from wear and tear it still keeps we warm and is able to take the abuse. Best work wear ever! Ask an Alaskan and he'll agree...i bet you!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Holy wetness I don't know if I got a bad lot or what, but I get wet every time I wear this stuff. I have long depended on Carhartt for my work wear, but not for my rainwear apparently. I was very disappointed when this jacket started leaking in the shoulder seams and over the years has progressed to not even needing to wear the thing because it's just going to get wet. The jacket leaks, the pockets hold water and at the end of the day I am miserable. I wouldn't recommend these to anybody who works hard out in the weather. Try this one again Carhartt, I expect more from you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps you dry! I bought this jacket the first year it was out, before Carhartt had a womens line. It is my favorite jacket! It's a great all weather jacket that looks great no matter where you are going or what you are doing. I recently wore this jacket along with a pair of Carhartt waterproof pants to a high school football game where it rained through out the entire game. I was completely dry from head to toe! This is one purchase I would make all over again, no regrets. The only complaint would be that the hood falls into my eyes no matter how I try to tighten it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING from the moment i put this jacket on i knew I'd love it. Its not bulky like a lot of other Carhartt jackets, it fits will in all the appropriate places. Pros: not bulky, lightweight, very very durable, super comfortable!, drys quickly Cons: not quite as waterproof as you're lead to believe!, I am a 240lb 5ft 7in tall person and built i usually wear a XL. the XL ran HUGE HUGE HUGE. I returned my first jacket and bought a Large. Which was also big returned it and bought a Medium. I can't remember the last time i wore anything medium. If i wanted to wear a sweatshirt under it I'd need a large. Great jacket! highly recommended. since i bought this I've also purchased the insulated version of this jacket J175 (large) and the Arcadia J219.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Product I was looking for an outer shell jacket for various outdoor sporting activities at all the sporting goods stores about a year ago. I just wasn't finding the whole package ---- durability, versatility, attractive design and good value until I walked in the local farm supply store and saw the J162 jacket. It beats all the competitors hands down, super functional with layering -- the best outer shell I've owned. Hiking, snowboarding, rigging up and derigging for a day of windsurfing in inclement weather -- the J162 is the real deal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket This jacket does exactly what it says it will do, keep you dry. It breathes to keep you dry from your own perspiration, keeps the rain out, and fights off the wind. I'm in the timber business so I am ALWAYS in the elements. This is my pic jacket on rainy days. It is NOT a heavy winter jacket for the snow. But is is great even in our cold Colorado rains. As long as the precipitation is "water" and not "snow", this is the ticket. It's the most rugged rain jacket I have ever owned, and wears great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket built for layering. This jacket holds up to the elements. I have had it for 6 years, I made the purchase when it was known as a J162 waterproof breathable jacket. The hood design is oversized to fit over hard hats and other head gear because it was built for the working individual. I live in Utah and use it pretty much year around. In the spring and fall it serves as my rain gear and in the winter I layer a fleece jacket under it and it becomes my winter parka. It's my favorite jacket Carhartt has made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Jacket Great overall jacket. Has a real "boss" style. I was recently promoted to foreman and needed a more professional look. This jacket gives that appeal. Very comfortable but runs big. I'm 5'9" 170 and had to get a SMALL when I usually wear MED or LRG. Warm but would need a long sleeve shirt undernieth below 50 degrees. More durable than I expected. Tougher than any other rain coat I have. The shell is a little noisy if you're a Ninja but strong enough to withstand a nunchuck attack.
