• Please note that if your chest and/or waist measurements are in between sizes, you should buy the larger size. It is also wise to double check the product description of the shirt you are buying to determine the fit. Sorry to be so bossy.

*Measure over your undergarments for best results

CHEST: Measure under your arms and across your shoulder blades while holding the tape firm and level. If your chest measurement is between sizes, buy the next size up.

WAIST: Measure around your natural waistline, this time keeping the tape comfortably loose.

INSEAM: Measure pants that fit you well. Lay them on a flat surface, with the front and back creased smooth. Measure along the inseam from the crotch to bottom of leg hem. You can also measure the correct inseam length without pants by measuring from your crotch to the pant length you would prefer.

TALL SIZES: For Carhartt's tall sizes, the garments are two inches longer in the length and sleeve than their regular size garments.

Regular, Short, and Tall Sizes

Differences Between Regular and Tall Sizing

Outerwear, Long-Sleeve Shirts, and Sweats: The tall sizes are 2" longer than regular sizes and the tall sleeve lengths are 2" longer than regular sleeve lengths. This applies to the Carhartt Men's Yukon Coverall.

Coveralls: The tall sizes are 1" longer than regular sizes, the tall sleeve lengths are 1" longer than regular sleeve lengths, and the short sleeve lengths are 1" shorter than regular sleeve lengths. This DOES NOT apply to the Carhartt Men's Yukon Coverall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality and tough as nails You can see how tough this coat is just by looking at it. I love the lining; very soft. Also, I like the zipper. It seems the zipper is the first thing to go. I've other coats sitting in the closet in good condition that have busted zippers. It is a little big, but I guess that's extra room for layering. The only thing I don't like are the handwarmer pockets. They have a small opening, and are positioned in sort of an odd, almost unnatural angle. I can't wait for it to get really cold. Here in Oklahoma we don't typically get a lot of snow. Just bitter cold and strong wind. I anticipate watching others shiver while I'm baking in this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Good heavy Coat I bought my newest sandstone Jackson coat a year ago and it is a Really Good heavy coat. As with ALL Carhartt products it is absolutely tough and long wearing.I live in the northern snow country of Montana and I wear this coat when I will be outside for awhile. I really like the longer length as it keeps the wind from blowing up my back. There are 6 outer pockets and 2 inner pockets which come in very handy for gloves. headwear and tools. I own an Artic quilted jacket that is 15 years old and a sandstone active jacket that is 10 years old and they are still going strong

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One Obvious Achilles’ Heel For the most part, this jacket is fantastic. It feels tough and durable. It has plenty of zippered pouches. It’s warm. It fits well. There’s just one obvious problem with the design. The zipper is big and looks strong, but it’s tough to zip. You have to put extra force on the zipper, and while that zipper looks tough, upon closer examination, the little bar connecting the pull is very thin, and its corners are 90 degrees rather than round. This makes it a major stress concentration area, and I don’t think it’s going to last that long before it breaks. It’s a shame because other than that, it seems like a very durable coat. A better design on the zipper would go a long way to making this one of the best coats ever made.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I was trying to replace my carhartt coat that is 19 years old. It is a yellow/gold canvas mid thigh coat. It's the best coat I ever owned. The sleeve cuff area has become frayed. I thought this coat, only available in black (yuk) would work out but I am most likely going to return it. My coat has hand warmer pockets up higher than the flap pockets-I just can't express what a fab thing it is to have those pockets. Additionally, my coat snaps and zips for extra warmth. It is flannel lined and sturdy and solid. The new one has a hood which mine does not. I thought it might be nice to have one however is very bulky and is in the way all the time. I will either repair mine if I can find some matching canvas or I'll just keep it and tout it as vintage!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carhartt is the best I recently purchased this item for my beau. He works really hard! I wanted to surprise him because he literally buys NOTHING for himself. He's had the same Carhartt for about 2/3 YEARS (Time for an UPGRADE!!!) I wanted THE BEST;so I choose Carhartt. I did my reasearch, read the reviews etc. I gotta agree, EVERYONE was right: This Coat is tough, yet very cozy(Just like a real man ought to be :D ) My beau loved it @ first sight, once he wore it he completely fell in love. Thanks Carhartt and to all of you who wrote those awesome reviews!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Cold Weather Work Coat My wife just bought me the "Sandstone Jacket/Coat" for my birthday as I needed a tough but warm coat to protect me while working in the cold. There is no doubt that Carhartt is the leader when it comes to tough, durable workwear. This coat fits well (sizes seem true) and is sufficiently warm. The pocket sizes and layout are convenient and with velcro closures; they stay put to keep things where they belong. The zipper on the coat is no "wimp" and is probably one of the best features. The overall quality of this coat is such that you know that it will last a long time, even under conditions that would probably send most other coats to an early end. I give this coat two thumbs up and heartily endorse it to anyone looking for a good investment in work outerwear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Christmas Gift I have always like Carhartt products. I ordered my brother a coat to match his work pants for Christmas. At first I checked the lg size and then changed my mind after talking to my mother and so changed to a med. What he ended up with was the large one. He said it was fine but I'm not sure if he said that not to hurt my feelings or if it really was fine. Since he lives in CO and I live in TX I'm not sure. I think there should be a better system of checks and balances when ordering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real Winter Protection It wasn't clear on the internet whether or not this was a coat for real cold weather. Here in New England we just finished the coldest February ever - and I mean in all of recorded weather statistics (back to 1903, I believe) there has never been a colder month. The Carhartt coat is really warm. At sub-zero temperatures it keeps you warm. It keeps me significantly warmer than the coat it replaced, and I would not expect any weather which would be too cold for this coat. It is heavy (I mean it weighs a lot) - not a real negative because of the job it has to do - but worthy of comment. This is no light-weight jacket. The lining is excellent, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who has to deal with cold weather especially if windy. But it is not a "spring" coat - it is very heavy and warm.
