One reason I bought the parka from Moosejaw is that they are an authorized seller for Canada Goose. Canada Goose lists authorized sellers and also has a search engine for this task. They are at www.canada-goose.com If you do not buy from an authorized seller you do not have the lifetime warranty and could be buying a counterfeit product.I have been delivering mail, on a rural route, for over 25 years in northern Michigan -- 600 miles northeast of Detroit. I recently bought the parka for extreme cold weather conditions and it keeps me warm and dry even during the arctic blasts. I am 5'6", 160 pounds, broad shouldered and usually wear a size medium or large top. I bought a medium and it fits perfectly. The one inside zippered pocket is 7.5 x 5.5", the cargo pockets are 10 x 9", and the zippered hand warmer pockets are 7.5 x 6.5". For me, these are enough pockets and I do not want top cargo pockets that interfere with seat belts. The hood keeps the cold and wind out. I hope review helps.
So I struggled with the rating system because I don't think the jacket does anything wrong however, I am sending it back. Here is the deal I wanted a coat that was going to keep my warm while excepting little energy (walking) in cold Wisconsin winters. I believe this jacket will do just that and then some. However, the coat is so big and bulky I am just not comfortable in it. If you are a Seinfeld fan think of Costanza knocking over wine bottles. I am 5'9 180 and went with the M and while bulky, I believe I got the proper fit. I simply decided I couldn't invest this kind of money in a coat I didn't love on, in addition, the thought of getting in and out of the car with the coat on was going to be a challenge due to the bulk again. With all that said, I have no doubt I would have been toasty warm in this guy and if you are good with bulk and large style, go for it, there is no way you will be disappointed with the style.
"The jacket is very warm and my body is never cold"
My husband and I both purchased this coat last winter. Living in denver, well it gets cold.He usually wears Medium (a large medium should fit him, but a Large is too large ), and we also bought "Medium" for this parka, it fits him perfectly , with a little room. Can be a little bulky but definitely worth the money. He travelled to Alaska and being someone who hates and feels the cold easily, this jacket really done the job for him. The only thing I would like to see added are drawstrings to the hood as in high wind conditions the hood seems to blow off your head.I have found that this problem can be eliminated by putting on a toque and or wrapping a scarf around your neck and face before pulling up the hood.Regardless, drawstring really seem like a no-brainier for this type of hood and I do not understand why they were not added.
