Ultralight. Ultrasexy.I brought this with me on my hike along the northern part of the PCT. There were a few times when I had this puppy out in case I slid. There was one instance in which this was good for self-arrest in wet and heavy snow. There was more than one instance in which this was good for digging emergency cat holes. I also used it to dig out some footholds in a very steep drift. However, the handle is slick. There's a hole to string a strap through to attach it to your wrist. I suggest doing this and not putting sandpaper on the handle for grip since sandpaper rips through everything. Never tested this axe in very icy conditions and don't recommend it for icy trips.

great for what it's intendedI carry the Corsa for summer alpine rock routes, where I may hit some steep snow here and there but nothing super technical from a snow/ice perspective. It's not long (or aggressive) enough to be the proper tool for longer/icier snow routes, but that's not its intended use. For that I would use my Grivel Air Tech Racing axe. If you need something light with a steel tip or curved handle, check out the Corsa Nanotech.

Light, Light & LIGHTHaven't try'em out on the slopes yet but they weight next to nothing. No excuse not to bring an ice axe again. Unbelievable weight!
