Hydration is a problem for me on longer runs and these electrolyte tabs help me out a lot. Although they only have 10 calories, they are a little sweet. But, the taste isn't overpowering.
These tablets are pretty nice... If you ever filter some less-than-ideal water these hide the flavor of purifying drops up nicely. They also don't leave the stickiness you usually have to deal with when using sports drink mixes.
Found this stuff when I was trying to look for an enery drink substitute on the trail. The orange alert variety is a great tasting alternative when out and about, wouldn't take a whole container backpacking though...maybe a few. They are pretty heavy, probably as heavy as the average swiss army knife (tinker/hiker). Great in cold water (fresh creek)...less great in warm water. I find it's enough flavor to kill bad tasting water. I personally made sure to include a bottle in my emergency 72 hour kit and bug out bag. Great for emergency preparedness.
I have used about 10 packs of this in my nalagen and when i go to put water in it with no tablets I can't even tell if there has been a flavored drink in their. Where as before I used to put gatorade in their and it ruined my old nalagen cause i can still taste it when i drink plain water.

I didn't do no reaserch on the content. I just know it tastes good and you do not have to clean you camelback after use. Very conenient, that is what I care for.
Tastes great as long as your water is cold. Awful taste in warm water!! Do not take them backpacking--Heavier than a box of rocks-I wasn't about to leave my box of rocks behind!!!
with this product in my camelbak i no longer worry about bacterial growth or dehydration. it doesn't exactly taste great but it's ok and it prevents dehydration, so overall i would but it again
