"AAAMMMAAAZZZIIINNNGGG!!!!" 01/01/11
When I was trying to find a new portable stove for the trail I was sceptic about this one..but it had all 5 star reviews so I got it.. It was under 50 dollars and worth a lot more then that! Its extreamly small like it fits in your hand small! the canisters are also small and compact. which is great for when your taking a 50 pound pack already. I recommend this to avid hikers and back packers and for ppl new to hiking. very amazing product and worth all of it.
"Without a doubt, the best value around!!" 12/04/10
Honestly, I kinda' chuckled when I saw it-it's tiny! I even thought about sending it back! I decided to give it a try anyway and this thing is AWESOME!! The supports are super sturdy. Even sitting on a slick rock with about a 4# pot of stew on it it was rock solid! You can fold the supports in halfway and use it for small gourmet things-like melting that gelatinous mass of funk on Vienna Sausages while they're in the can...how cool is that! It boils a quart of water in no time and the flame control is easy to operate even in gloves.
"Fabulous Stove!" 10/09/10
I've had this stove for about a year now and it has proven extremely efficient and easy to use, and it has been very reliable. Plus, it folds up super tiny and is very easy to stow in any pocket or nook in my bag. Living in Israel, people spend a lot of time outside (turkish coffee is a staple food group here and it is commonly made on these stoves) and this stove sees action at least 3-4 days a week. Hasn't let me down yet!Overall-- I highly recommend this stove!
"Excellent backpacking stove for the price" 08/22/10
The Raptor is excellent, hands down. It is light, very compact, has a self-igniter which works very well, boils water fast, and fits conveniently in most cookware pots. I have used this in all sorts of environments - AT, alpine, sub-alpine, meadows, the backyard - and it has always surprised me as to how fast it boils water. Sure, I wouldn't want to use it to cook for a large number of people, but it's a great stove. My only dislike of this stove is that the fuel adjuster does not fold into the stove after you fold the arms in. It bends in but does not lock in place. Not a big deal, still an excellent stove!
"Coolest gadget i've ever bought for camping" 04/05/10
This thing is awesome. it folds up in to just a couple inches and comes with it's own stuff sack. it's smaller than your cell phone and could easily fit in your pocket.don't forget to buy fuel like i did!
"Does what a stove should do and top shelf quality." 06/08/09
Boils quickly, simmers if needed, and hot spots are nominal. I can always get the job done with this baby. If you are looking for lighter options... they exist, but I wasn't as happy with their performance. Good quality construction, packs down small. Great for backpackers and UL backpackers alike. Forget the stand for the fuel canisters. Worthless. Don't hesitate to buy this product.
