It is what it is.The solar collection is limited but exists. If you have an emergency in the desert (or elsewhere with direct sunlight) and need to reanimate your dead phone, this will do it. You will be saved. Otherwise, I recommend using it as a PRECHARGED power source that you can solarly recharge if too many emergencies happen all at once. Because, really, you'll end up charging this at home or in the car many more times than you will by lying it on a granite monolith or dangling from your pack (aimed in precisely the right direction). In other words, get it because it's utility is poorly replaced by other products on the market, but at the same time be honest with yourself about what you're getting. It has no super powers/ is limited. But still, very worthwhile. Candid enough?

Nice for trips, but need very direct sun lightThis is a handy solar charger, it can strap to your pack while hiking and is very durable. It needs very direct sunlight tho. It can charge through the car window if it is very bright outside. When fulling charged, it can charge an iPhone about 1 time if the phone is totally dead. It's also supper nice that it can also charge using a car, computer, or any USB output :)
