Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jack Bauer uses this... If a product has been approved by Jack Bauer, it must be sweet. Don't be a hater. This thing will make you look and feel like a Russian spy. You can easily use it with one hand while weilding a weapon with the other. Maybe a spoon. The point is, this thing is so small, why *wouldn't* you want it? You are all about keeping things to a minimum... saving those precious ounces... it's a minimal investment for such a fun AND functional product. Keep it in your front pocket. Save the big daddy binoculars for your home. You might need this to identify terrorists, or something.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Might be better off saving for an upgrade An excellent idea. Its lightweight and compact size make it very convenient and portable. it's pretty good for sporting events and trying to look at not-too-distant objects. The drawbacks are that its magnification leaves a lot to be desired you get what you pay for on this one. The other thing that bothers me is that it doesn't come with a lens cover. It would be really easy for stray grains to find their way into the mechanism and mess it up, or scratch the lenses, if you don't put it back in its included case each time you're done looking at stuff.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent Scope for the size/price Pros:,,- very small & light,,- inexpensive (FWIW - I got mine on sale),,- rubber armored,,- focus action is smooth,,- seems well made,,,,Cons:,,- image not very bright/clear due to small optics diameter,,- focusing is coarse, tough to focus in with precision,,- lens cloth is useless,,,,Bottom line: get it on sale and use it as intended - an ultra compact fast-focus monocular.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for checking that street sign that is just a little too far away and your feet already hurt Its extremely light, cheap and optics wise, its a little dark but it gets the job done. Which is to make you look cool and remind you of pirates. I challenge you to get one and during its lifetime of use, I guarantee you that an "Arrrrhhhhhhhhh" sound will eminate from your lips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from oh yeah awesome cool i like the monocular, because i wear glasses, and binoculars arent the best for people who wear glasses. but this monocular is a lot easier for me to use. it small stylish, now all the women want me, not really, but yeah they do, no they dont, but really yeah they do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When you're being tracked down, you'll have an advantage thanks to the Brunton Echo Monocular. Although I wish this had better magnification, I still love it. It won't let you see anything you couldn't see normally, but it will help you to see details a lot better watching wildlife, mountains, people hunting you down, etc. The case isn't the best, but it does the job. I would suggest getting a new case for it to attach to your pack though. Other than that, I wouldn't get anything else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, Light, Works... Excelent for backpacking. Wanted to bring a pair of binoculars but coudn't find a pair light enough without breaking the bank. The Brunton Monocular is a great compromise. Works exceptionally well and don't feel like I am carrying an anchor that gets occasional use - remember - an ounce in the morning feels like a pound at the end of the day. Enjoy...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An amazing product, especially for the money Almost unnoticeably light. Excellent clarity and sharpness. Surprisingly low price. The close focus give you virtually a hand microscope for looking at bugs and such you can easily view your own fingerprints ... if you're into that sort of thing. When a Mongolian nomad saw my Pocket Scope he had to have it and offered me a sheep for it. True story.
