"good for the price"  07/31/11

small, cheap, can't really 'malfunction' due to its simplicity. also it always points upward which is neat and super helpful if youre in an avalanche!!! best for getting a basic sense of direction eg am i getting on the inbound train not the outbound one in a country where i cant read the signs/am i hiking in the opposite direction i want to be hiking in? the pin has been perfectly functional. handy little thing i pin to a shoulder strap that i can check easily anytime. javascript:ProductReviewsForm.prepareSubmit(document.ProductReviewsForm)

"Pretty Good Compass"  01/27/11

I just got this compass. I wouldn't recommend you rely on it in the middle of the jungle, but it's a pretty nice compass just to keep clipped on my backpack.

"You get what you pay for"  04/01/10

It's tiny and light and can give you a general sense of direction. But not something I would count on for serious navigation. I ended up spending a few more bucks on a more reliable compass.

"Works as good as a cheapie compass can...."  10/02/09

I recently had the ball compass pinned to my pack during a hiking weekend and it worked fine as a backup for when I just wanted to check my orientation really quickly. It seems to work better when the pin is level with the compass.

Works great for a general sense of direction. I keep mine pinned to my backpack strap.

"For this price, get one."  05/16/08

Great little compass for dirt cheap. I keep it pinned to my pack during adventure races for rough and dirty navigating. It has really come in handy for quick reference when I just need a general bearing. Great item!

"It's cheap and it works."  04/01/08

I pin this to my glove when mountain biking. Works fine and for the money you can't go wrong. Seems like there are a million different places you could pin it depending on your activity.

"Kicks Butt"  02/07/08

Very small but very cool. This is the simplest compass that you can get, and it works like a dream. Great for putting on a backpack, hydration pack, or even on your shoe if you are going for a long run. Also its practically cheap as free so you have nothing to lose.
