"Worthless: huge, cheaply made."  09/26/11

I like the green. it's nice and visible. Unfortunately the readings around the dial are on a plastic sheet glued down that will start to peel up with about one hour of use. The vial in mine began leaking immediately. The thermometer inside is good for laughs. And the thing is huge. The "built-in" declinatin adjustment is not really any different than accounting for it in your head. Worthless.

"Good, Sturdy Compass"  05/04/09

This is one sturdy compass. This thing is really big. Everything on it works like it should. The mirror is also great for helping to put contact lenses in. The thermometer is kind of lame though.

Good quality for the price. Has everything you need for compass navigation. The mirror is big enough to use for shaving if you want to.

"I think it's a good one..."  03/20/08

My first compass with mirror, so much bigger/builkier than I'm used to. Love the thermometer. The directions were confusing, and there were no directions on how to use the slope indicator. I know how to use a compass in general, but I needed to know how to use THIS compass. Hopefully it will stand up to SAR abuse.

"A bit large, but a great compass for the price."  12/11/07

Ever since I took my sons geocaching in the dark woods near our home without knowing how my new GPS receiver works in the cold rain, no less and got a bit misplaced, I'd been wishing for a good compass to take along. This one does just the job. It's bulkier than most, but I carry it around my neck anyway.

When I received this compass, I shocked because of its size. Too big, I think. I hope Brunton make it small. The needles move very fast. If Brunton make same design small one, I 'd like to exchange mine.
