Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love them. But they should come in a loud argyle pattern, in case of bear attack. Only a fool I speak from experience wears a single layer of socks when a long-planned and longed-for hiking trip is on the line. Nothing ruins a Thoreauvian perspective of oneness with Gaia like blisters. Blackflies run a close second. Perhaps being eaten by bears would outstrip both of these, but this hardly ever happens to me, so I leave it out. I used to wear dress nylon socks as the inner layer. They had the advantage of being slippery so the outer sock rubbed against the inner sock, especially when bathed in sweat. Also they last forever. But they aren't really all that comfortable. I have now tried these Coolmax liners and have to say they are vastly preferable, not only t

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This could do the trick! I had six blisters last year on each foot when I hiked the entire JMT. Part of it is because being a novice hiker, I underestimate the importance of taking care of your feet while hiking. I finished the hike but with agony. This year, I have been researching a lot of products and these lining socks could be the answer. I am planning to bring vaseline and foot powder so during mid-hike, I can apply them to keep feet dry from moisture. I did a preliminary test by wearing my boots, mid-weight bridgedale socks and these lining socks in humid Wisconsin weather - without foot powder and vaseline. I am pretty impressed after 8 hours of walking. There is some moisture in between the toes b

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality liner Simply put, these do what they're supposed to. Wick away moisture. Super light-weight but durable fabric. I've worn them on warm and cool days hiking in the Rockies, and they were a daily staple in my clothing arsenal for a summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Quality material and construction; I expect them to last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with a thick wool sock I've always used these in conjunction with a thick wool sock, and they've served me well on many long trips. I can't really do any double-blind tests with myself and I've always used these, so I can't speak for what difference they make. And I'm not willing to leave them behind and find out the hard way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best liner ever The liner is super soft, comfortable and moisture wicking. The construction is solid and fabric is high quality. Unlike the cheaper liners, I think these liners are going to last a while. Definitely worth the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Your feet will like them, your nose will not. Nice and lightweight, kept me cool. However, they got much more funky smelling than my other socks during a week long hike. Not on account of wearing them more ... maybe because of the material.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Its a liner...nothing to write home about. This liner is OK as it serves its purpose, but i found it to be a little constricting. the fabric did not wick as well as i had hoped and it is not as comfortable as other liners i have tried...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have to keep your feet dry. Makes worlds of difference. These liners help keep my feet dry incredibly well. Wearing light to heavy weight wool socks over these liners didn't matter and my feet stayed dry.
