I bought these about 9 months ago and waited to review them to address durability. They have held up great through desert hikes and standing up in all day at work. They are warm soft and stretchable. I bought several pairs of Bridgedale socks at the same time and these are the most comfortable. They still hold their elasticity after many wearings.
I bought these socks because we love bamboo socks. They are not as soft as the other ones I have, but I think they will be good for light hiking socks in the desert where we live. Not as stretchy, and my husband is on the cusp between sizes, so these may become mine. I would guess they are better if you are mid-range in the size breakdowns.
I have been and avid bridgedale consumer for well over 15 years. If you know bridgedale they last FOREVER!!! Was some what skeptical of the bamboo but after receiving I love them. They are extremly soft and a good weight. Will contiune to buy bridgedale if these ever wear out. I wear these in all seasons year round and they are cool enough in the summer and warm enough to be in the snow and mud all day in the winters of N. Indiana.
I wore these trekking to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Medium warmth, good cushioning, I wore them coupled with Bridgedale's Wool Fusion Coolmax Liners. They're comfortable, and not so bulky that had to jam my feet in my boots. Quality fabric and construction, as you would expect from Bridgedale.
