Booster Snowboard shovels are for the riders with minimalist tendencies. A single, non-adjustable shaft with a simple T-handle reduces weight while delivering all the necessary leverage. A stout aluminum blade knifes through cement-like avalanche debris. Did we mention it's great for making jumps?

Light and DurableI bought this shovel to use on some backcountry snowboarding in order to make jumps and such and love it. The collapseable feature is really helpful to throw in a backpack. It is plastic, which worried me, but it is reinforced on the edge and has shown no lack of durability and is exceptionally light. I was using this shovel last year for uban snowboarding around town and got kicked out of/pulled over at 7 places. Thankfully, I think due to the luckiness of this shovel, I was only given warnings all 7 times.

better shovels on the marketI bought this with anticipation of using it on a trip out west and during ice climbing trips here in michigan and canada. However the shovel head is very large and hard to pack. also being made out of plastic it is very flimsy and I would not trust this thing to cut into packed glacier ice. I use it now for my car as an emergency shovel in the winter and purchased a steel headed shovel that is a little smaller and seems more versatile.
