"Good piece of caving gear"  12/08/11

Made in America is a big plus. The linkage system makes for very smooth advancing on your line. Only downside is that I worry anytime a piece of gear is more complex, it also tends to become less reliable. Bottom line though; use in conjunction with a chest ascender, keep it clean, inspect it before use, and you will have a very efficient system and an enjoyable time on the rope.

"Easy to operate"  12/05/11

Only used this one for mountaineering trips. It is specially designed to use with gloves on. With technical gloves, it can be easily opened and closed with one hand.

"Perfect in every way"  12/08/10

An awesome piece of equipment; if weight is not an issue, much nicer than Prussiks. Just buy it already

"Perfect in every way."  11/26/10

I can confirm these bad boys work well on wet ropes. My last trip to the Grampians in Australia saw us climbing in some terrible weather. The wind and rain was so strong it held 20meters of wet rope trailing behind me out almost horizontal. The nForce Ascenders gripped the rope so well as I jumard up to clean the trad gear. I always had full confidence in my ascenders and I would recommend them to anyone.

"Best on the market!!!!"  11/02/10

I have tried out all the common ascenders on the market and find the Black diamond to be the simplest to use and the best working. with one finger you can pull the auto-locking mechanism back and have your ascender set nice and tight on the ropes. another plus is it is much easier on the sheath of the rope wearing is down much less. Also works on wet ropes and fairly icy ropes if needed. great features, quality built, I recommend this to anyone looking for an ascender.

"The nForce be with you ...."  01/07/10

I'm not even a Star Wars fan but that was the only "clever" subject I could come up with ..... and hey - I never claimed to be clever or creative or even 1/2 way intelligent, so screw you for judging.Anyways - the nForce Ascender is truly top notch. I recently used it on the head-wall of Island Peak and never skipped a beat on the way up. I even used it a bit on the decent towards the bottom. Perfect amount of friction and the finger trigger is easy to operate, even with a thick glove. I highly recommend it.

"Great, light weight ascender, with awesome features"  04/02/09

I used this and the right handle ascender on a solo one pitch climb and loved it. The action is smooth jugging up the fixed line, with no immiediate visible wear on the rope, and I was able to clip into the rope one handed with ease. Not only that, but the locker I used was able to reorient itself with out being stopped by the clip in hole. The mechanical parts moved smoothly and seemed burly enough so as to not worry about them. The only problem I had with this individual ascender was that it did feel kind of floppy, more so than the right handed one (manufacturing detail?). All in all a great product from BD!

"great product"  07/15/08

I used this once so far and I have to say that I love it. It's much better then the petzl ascender. I would definitely recommend the nforce to anyone.

"Recommended"  06/24/08

Been using these for the last two weeks. They work great, look great and lets face it - who doesn't want to own a set of ascenders. I compared them with the petzl's, and I reckon these are much better - more grip and range and the trigger is much easier to use.

"Best ascender"  05/23/08

The 4 bar system does not only increase grip it also saves the rope - think about it - it would work even without the little spikes. However, if you got a small hand, you got a bit of a problem.
