The Zodiac Gear Sling by Black Diamond is created to organize heavy racks on long climbs; a light alternative to traditional slings. Fleece lined with a back pocket to hold a topo map.
DECENT FEATURES of the Black Diamond Zodiac Gear Sling
Basic gear holder but works well. Straps for gear are high enough that they don't dangle around the waist and catch on the rock when climbing. Having gear straps on each side means better weight balance and at the back there is a small pocket which can fit energy bars or a walky talky. Simple but effective.
the zodiac sling is a great way to transfer weight from your hips to upper body and also get the longer pieces away from your legs. the sternum strap makes it pretty stable, and i love the price. not sure how i got along with this!
Great sling - just returned from aid climbing for two weeks and used it a lot. Comfortable. The only thing is that the large loop on each side has quite a bit of travel etc when you lean forward - two loops each side would have been better. Recommended.
"Great product, real comfy, affordable. Makes gear intensive climbs more organized."

Cool gear sling. Super comfy, and it keeps gear from swinging in front of you when you lean forward. I like the extra shoulder height gear loops, which work great for clipping off daisy chains and aiders when doing aid climbs. Small pouch in the back is SMALL, so don't expect to put much stuff in it. I keep a BD ion headlamp, route topo, and backup pocket knife in it. Only con with this is that it requires a bit of creativity to rig extra gear loops (if you wan't or need more than two for even more gear!). Great for big trad routes, or moderate aid climbs!
