The Black Diamond Women's Primrose SA Package includes just enough gear to get you started in climbing. The Package starts with the Primerose SA harness, a women's specific shape for comfort while testing your skills. The Rocklock Screwgate locking carabiner and ATC belay/rappel device are both durable for taking on the task of walking you through your first foray into the sport. The BD chalk bag comes with White Gold chalk to ensure non-sweaty grip all the way up the wall. Looking the part of a climber is half the battle, now grab a climbing sensei to teach you the ropes.
The colors may vary from the ones pictured, as these come in assorted colors. Remember that line from Forrest Gump? Me neither, but it was something about surprises are good and eat lots of chocolate.

Everything you need to get startedAfter renting for a few weeks at my local gym, I finally buckled down and bought my own gear ... I wish I had done so after my first climb! The extra padding (at least compared to rental harnesses) is nice for belaying. The clasps for tightening the leg loops were a little weird at first, but I like the continuous band so I don't have to worry about double-backing. The screw-lock carabiner / ATC are also very smooth and easy-to-use. My only complaint is that the chalk bag only comes with a string, so I still need to buy a small carabiner or clip for myself so that I can attach/remove the bag more quickly (I like to share, and a lot of my friends still rent).

Great Choice, good bargain for new climbersThis package is a great way to get started if you're looking to get your own gear for the first time. The harness is good quality, not too bulky and padded, but still comfortable to wear, even on all day. The chalk that comes with the set is very nice and grippy, not the poor quality I was expecting from this starter package. All in all, great choice for anyone who just wants to get on the rock and climb and isn't looking for anything too flashy. (also, quite thankfully, the chalk bag my set came with was gray, not the ugly clashing orange in the picture. Because matching is of paramount concern in all climbing gear.)

Great Fit, Super SexyThis is a great product for someone starting to climb inside or out. I have mostly been indoor climbing and this has been just swell. I got tired of renting gear all the time. Don't worry about borrowing an ATC or chalk bag (including chalk shot) from friends - this comes with all you need save a rope and shoes. Still need to be safe...!,,I am 5'9" and got the Large because the Medium only barely had enough tail around the waist when I was just wearing shorts and a teeshirt. I love the speed adjust on the legs, and I love the color. ,,,,"You know, it is better to look good than it is to feel good." Fernando Lamas,,Good thing this harness has you feeling good too!

Great Deal, for a startI got this as my first set for climbing. LOVED the deal. My only dissatisfaction about the product is that the harness itself is just sort of a nuisance. Its not as easy to adjust as I would've hoped. you still have to take time to move this loop up, so you can take this strap in, so you can move this loop here, and then double back over. the harnesses i used at the gym before this were a lot easier to pull on and go. i have big hips and thighs and a smaller waist, so i have to make it loose enough to get over those areas, then tighten things up when i get them in place. Also, i think i would be more comfortable with wider straps, not for safety necessarily, but for feeling less bulgy.

Great starter kit!Recently started climbing at a gym, & love it! After checking various sites for gear, this kit seems to be the best deal; everything you need, but the shoes. I have a 33" waist, 46" hips & 22" thighs where the leg straps hit (I said I'm just starting!); the M fits perfectly. It takes wiggling to get over my hips, but is v. secure. The leg straps ride higher than I'm used to, but are comfortable & can be tucked in (I usually have to leave straps hanging). While the single speed buckle is less intuitive than the doubles, the quality is good. The belay device/carabiner are what I was taught on, also good quality and secure. Color of bag may differ from the photo, if it matters. Def. worth it!

GREAT Kit. SO SO pleasedFor anyone looking to start out their protection and rock climbing gear this kit it GREAT. You save SO MUCH money by going this way.,,The harness is sleek and modern, yet comfortable.,,The locking carabiner and belay device are standard and non complicated. ,,The chalk bag is standard and a good size. Black Diamond so it is built to last and it comes with 1 non-refillable chalk shot that would last a 5th grade teacher her entire teaching career.,,Again perfect for any starter or someone who has been borrowing/renting for a long time and is finally ready for their own first set.

Good introductory package for a new climberThis was my first harness, and I got it with the whole ATC, chalkbag package. For that reason alone, it's a great deal, especially if you get it on sale. However, the harness itself (while safe and functional) has always been kind of awkward on my body. I think my waist and hips are proportional like a normal human, but for some reason the back loop of the harness always seems to be skewed to the right no matter how many times me or my even more experienced climber friends adjust it. Also, the leg loops often get twisted in these non-intuitive ways for untangling.

ComfortablI love how comfortable the harness is much more comfortable than the harnesses I was renting from the gym! I love that there is one strap the tighten the waist it's better than the double straps in my opinion. I also like how there are no hanging straps when it's on that way nothing is in the way or gets tangled. The chalk bag is a little small but still serves its purpose. The screw caribener is ok but I much prefer the auto locking ones. Overall a great package and awesome harness.
