"Everything you need to get started"  05/19/12

After renting for a few weeks at my local gym, I finally buckled down and bought my own gear ... I wish I had done so after my first climb! The extra padding (at least compared to rental harnesses) is nice for belaying. The clasps for tightening the leg loops were a little weird at first, but I like the continuous band so I don't have to worry about double-backing. The screw-lock carabiner / ATC are also very smooth and easy-to-use. My only complaint is that the chalk bag only comes with a string, so I still need to buy a small carabiner or clip for myself so that I can attach/remove the bag more quickly (I like to share, and a lot of my friends still rent).

"Great starter kit!"  04/21/12

Recently started climbing at a gym, & love it! After checking various sites for gear, this kit seems to be the best deal; everything you need, but the shoes. I have a 33" waist, 46" hips & 22" thighs where the leg straps hit (I said I'm just starting!); the M fits perfectly. It takes wiggling to get over my hips, but is v. secure. The leg straps ride higher than I'm used to, but are comfortable & can be tucked in (I usually have to leave straps hanging). While the single speed buckle is less intuitive than the doubles, the quality is good. The belay device/carabiner are what I was taught on, also good quality and secure. Color of bag may differ from the photo, if it matters. Def. worth it!

"Great Deal, for a start"  04/16/12

I got this as my first set for climbing. LOVED the deal. My only dissatisfaction about the product is that the harness itself is just sort of a nuisance. Its not as easy to adjust as I would've hoped. you still have to take time to move this loop up, so you can take this strap in, so you can move this loop here, and then double back over. the harnesses i used at the gym before this were a lot easier to pull on and go. i have big hips and thighs and a smaller waist, so i have to make it loose enough to get over those areas, then tighten things up when i get them in place. Also, i think i would be more comfortable with wider straps, not for safety necessarily, but for feeling less bulgy.

"Good stuff to start!"  03/16/12

Bought this after my husband and I went climbing for the first time...we knew we'd keep going. Great starter kit...has everything I need for now. I'm 5'5", 140lbs., and my waist is 30". Went for the medium because I didn't want to be on the end of the small, but I actually have to tighten the medium all the way. Comfortable to climb and hang...nice and padded.

"Reliable and Comfy..what else do you need?"  12/21/11

I got this recently for my wife who expressed interest in climbing with me. This kit comes with everything she needs to top rope with me. She has rented harnesses before and says they do hurt her after a couple of routes. She has never complained about discomfort in this harness. This is the perfect set of gear for someone new to the sport who wants their own gear. The speed adjust buckles on this model make it easy for beginners to be secure and safe.

"I couldn't be happier with this purchase. What can I say..BUY IT!"  11/17/11

With a single order I was able to fulfill my lack of gear! The harness is so comfortable and looks pretty sweet too :) I can now be proud to go out and show off my skills because this package equipted me perfectly! I love the biner, it's super easy to use and the chalk and bag is a great addition! It's awesome for a beginner to "get their feet off the ground" with their new hobby!

"Great Harness"  09/06/11

I have been using this harness for at least 4 years now, and it has never disappointed me. I climb indoors and outdoors, and this harness has withstood both outdoor dirt and gym dust. I would recommend it to any climber looking for a fairly cheap and hardy harness.

"Good introductory package for a new climber"  08/21/11

This was my first harness, and I got it with the whole ATC, chalkbag package. For that reason alone, it's a great deal, especially if you get it on sale. However, the harness itself (while safe and functional) has always been kind of awkward on my body. I think my waist and hips are proportional like a normal human, but for some reason the back loop of the harness always seems to be skewed to the right no matter how many times me or my even more experienced climber friends adjust it. Also, the leg loops often get twisted in these non-intuitive ways for untangling.
