SPECIFICATIONS of the Black Diamond Women's Primrose SA Harness
This harness is great! The speed adjust comes in handy when you need don't have much time to climb, its so easy to put on! I've hundreds on lead falls in mine and plan to take many more, I cant even tell I'm wearing a harness (other then the fact I'm dangling or the edge of a cliff!). Belaying in this is so great, I've belayed guys twice my weight, and when they fall the legs loops don't hurt my legs, which is a major bonus because I mostly climbing with all boys. Great harness!!
I work at a camp where I am wearing my harness for hours on end and this is a super comfortable one, most of the time I don't even notice that I am still in it. Its easy to get in and out of when I am in a hurry and its lightweight which makes it easy to wear for long periods of time. It is true to size and the legs tighten up nicely. Overall, good choice - great product for what I needed and great price.
I climb at an indoor gym and recently bought this harness in the blue & black so I could stop renting the cheap ones the gym had (and look more like I know what I'm doing). I was looking for the cheapest harness I could buy that could do the job. I found this one and is satisfied, and it has way more padding than that one, which DOES make a difference. I ordered it after taking my measurements and it seems I was a little off. I have a size 6 waist but a size 8/10 badonkadonk (and some thighs with that) so I ordered a Medium and it seems a Small would have fit better, especially in the waist. I have to tighten it all the way on the waist and a bit on the thighs. Even so, I am super satisfied with this harness. Buy it!
I spend most of my time just hanging and not so much actual climbing so the padding in the waist and legs is really nice. I've only had it one season and so far so good. Most of my climbing is outdoors so I also have to haul the harness to the spot and it packs down pretty good in my bag.
I have to admit I am a very much a beginner when it comes to climbing but to me this harness is absolutely great! Here's my break down: The look (if you're into that): the raspberry color is deep and gorgeous but not too girly. The black/grey/white accents look clean and nice and overall it looks as nice as a harness could. The sizing: I went with the size chart (31" waist and 21" leg) which put me in the medium column and it fits quite perfectly. The overall awesomeness: the leg straps are super easy to adjust with just a slide of a buckle and the materials seem very durable. It's comfortable and well padded and is a beautiful, rich color. I borrowed a very similar harness of my friends a few weeks back and I much prefer the comfort of this one. I would definitely recommend this harness to anyone looking for a great, solid harness.
This was my first harness and it's a big upgrade from the rentals at the gym. It's super confortable but it sits a little higher on me because I'm short (5'2) but you get used to it. It's definitely a great starter harness but I think I will eventually get one that has a little less bulk/weight and sacrifice the extra comfort. The quick tightening straps around the legs are super convenient and I would definitely recommend this harness to others.
"Best harness for a newbie and for the price!"
I'm a beginning climber and after talking with some randos I found at the store I was told this model of Black Diamond harness would be the best bang for my buck. It turns out the randos were right. It's a great standard harness and will see me through for a few years to come. I chose the blue because I try not to look so damn girly all the time. It's not a bad color, still pretty girly though.
Overall, I like this harness a lot. It's comfortable and the speed adjust buckles are great. It fits me a little weird--I have to wear it higher on my waist than most harnesses, but I think that's my short waist's fault more than the harness'. If I got nit-picky, the back loop's a bit lower than I'd prefer for a chalk bag, and the folded and stitched end on the waist strap is a little annoying to work through the loops that hold the excess, but overall, for the price, this is a fantastic comfortable harness. I'm 5'7", 130 lbs and I got the small, which is almost too big, so it runs on the large side, in my opinion.
"A great harness, for beginners or moderate climbers"
This was my first harness purchase, then my second when that one was retired. I have no complaints with it. It fits well, and it comfortable enough to sit in for a while at the gym or on the crag. The gear loops are well-placed, too. If I did a lot of multi-pitching I might want to upgrade to a better model, but this one suits my needs perfectly.
This was my first harness but I'm very happy with the purchase! I got it last winter as I started getting into climbing. It was a great deal and I'm very happy with the choice. I'd suggest this to other new climbers! You can't go wrong!
