"The Black Diamond Vista is by far one of the easiest tents to set up that I have ever used! The major issue with a lot of backpacking tents is that they feel more like coffins than a shelter and you tend to only be inside them as little as possible, but that is not the case here. Black Diamond did an amazing job with this bad boy! There is enough room in this tent for three people plus a dog, or two people and two larger dogs. My friend that goes camping with me is 6'5" which too tall if you ask me. In most tents he has to sleep on an angle, taking up more room in the tent and leaving less for me, but with the Vista there is plenty of room for him without having to sleep on an angle. There is plenty of room to sit up and move around as well. The Vista tent has a freestanding hub style that offers more headroom and raises the walls nicely, giving the feeling of a more spacious area. The entire tent sets up quickly and easily, including the fly and vestibule. So if you're tall, or just like a lot of room in a backpacking and camping tent, this is a great option."

"Awwww yeahhhhhhh!" 07/26/11
I treat this tent like it's my little baby. I brag about it to people (who brags about tents??). I love it dearly, and use it whenever I can. If there's no tenting excursion in the near future I'll pitch it in the back yard, or the living room... just because. It's the perfect 3 season tent. I never had any bug problems that people complained of. Although the first few times I used it was in the bug-less desert, so that might be why. I haven't noticed a milimetre of condensation, even in terribly humid conditions. Best part is, it goes up in SECONDS!Don't be a chump, buy it.
"huge tent, few major issues" 05/19/10
Really a 4 person tent, holds up reasonably well in the wind. Only issue was a ripped stuff sack which received a quick patch job of duct tape and glue. Kinda-ok in snow, but if you're in the snow you probably want a smaller and warmer tent (mountain hardwear spire 2 is awesome). Octo link pole setup is a breeze and can be done by old parents too
"Great tent...Black Diamond Vista" 05/16/10
I had great Customer Service from BD when I had a minor issue when I first got the tent. Now having gotten the tent out numerous times, I love this tent. Enough space for me, the wife, 18 month old daughter and the dog. The dog is an 85 pound lab. Setups quick and easy enough. It is a good design and allows for good ventilation. I look forward to many years in this tent. Great job Black Diamond!!!

"Great all around tent" 01/27/10
I've really only used this for family camping in the Midwest. If I'm going into the back country a bivy or tarp work fine for me. This tent is great for the humid weather we have in the Midwest. You can roll up the rain fly on both sides so that you can stay cool in the summers, but you can roll down the rain fly quick if a storm rolls in. I you need the luxury of a tent while you are backpacking this tent is roomy and light weight.
"epic. magical. dope. these words express my love for the vista. totally badass tent!" 06/05/09
this tent rules, set up in less than 5 minutes, weighs virtually nothing between 2 packs and still isn't an issue when carrying alone. the fly and tent pack up in a jiff if you're on the move quick and the hub pole system works surprisingly well, make sure you keep an eye on the poles they tend to wanna get to work faster than you want 'em to, so they'll start pulling together so just keep at eye on 'em. quick set up, quicker breakdown, rock solid, keeps all the iicky out & the radness inside. mates perfectly with its footprint and hell yes to this tent and that's the bottom line because my face said so. :D
"Great tent, Awesome Custy Service from BD" 05/07/09
We bought this tent late last fall. We set it up once in the living room just to size it up. Then this spring we set it up in the back yard to air it out and get it ready for the season. Well after taking it down we found the stuff sack had ripped. I cannot say that it was not ripped when we bought the tent, nor can I say that we may not have done it in the limited time we have used the tent. However I contacted Joe at Black Diamond and they sent out a replacement sack immediately. I can’t wait to get out on the trail and use this tent. I just thought I would let everyone know that BD is willing to stand behind their products. I will review again after we get 5 nights in the tent.
"Lightweight, waterproof, quick an easy to set up." 04/08/09
On my last hiking trip we were running for the rain trying to find a camping spot quick. This thing performed flawlessly. We had maybe 5 minutes to set up, and that's exactly how fast the tent popped up. Probably less. The tent is extremely easy to set up with the fastening clips. There were slight condensation problems, but nothing out of the ordinary. Kind of wish it came with air fresheners though, cause boy were my friend's feet smelly...
"Strong...Super Light Weight...Perfect" 04/02/09
To say the least...this tent rocked! Just got back from a 5 dayer in Southern Illinois (Illinois isn't all corn you know...). Then tent was perfect for what we were looking for. Minimal condensation build-up even with 3 heavy breathers in 45 degree nights. VERY spacious while still lightweight. Only con...small vestibules. However, we were still able to keep all our gear inside the vestibules, just with a little stacking. The tent is extremely simple to assemble and can be done in minutes. Packs well, especially with 3 people carrying it. The doors on both sides is also extremely handy, trust me, you will appreciate it. GET IT!
"Spacious, sturdy, stays dry" 03/28/09
Took this tent backpacking on the River to River Trail in Southern Illinois for 5 days. It stayed dry in the rain and fit three people and two dogs easily. All our gear fit in the two vestibules, and it was really convenient to have the two doors into the tent.
"Spacious, sturdy, stays dry" 03/28/09
We took this tent with us backpacking for 5 days. Split between 3 people it fit in our packs easily and was extremely light for how big it is. It fit three people (heights between 5'9" and 6') and 2 dogs (30lbs and 50lbs) in it easily and the vestibules (though a little small) fit all our gear and our dogs gear. It stayed dry in the rain though a little condensation did build up when it got hot and muggy in there while we were waiting out the storm.
