"Solid mid- to large- sized pearabiner, very light" 03/23/13
I purchased a set of these biners with a very specific purpose in mind, which was constructing big wall climbing anchors. I don't know if you've ever seen a big wall anchor, but they're basically gigantic cluster jumbles of multiple ropes, cords, and dozens of biners attached to 2 or 3 bolts. Using large locking biners to clip the bolts means that you can clip more things into those lockers and keep your belay somewhat organized. I bought these thinking they were as large as the BD Rocklock biner (they are not), but the pear shape still gives enough space that they'll perform the intended function very well. The construction makes them very lightweight, which is a bonus.
"I beam construction has impressed me." 03/10/13
I didn't expect to notice the advertised 30% more breaking power and it still might just me my brain falling for the advertising but i think its there. I haven't used my traditional style round carabiner back to back with this carabiner for a true test but I plan to soon.
"great beaner for watever you need it to do" 10/29/12
I want my gear to be the lightest possible, enter the black diamond vaporlock. I picked up this beaner based on reviews and having nothing but good to say about it. Several of my buddies have went and bought these after borrowing mine. Hands down one of the smoothest beaners to use for belaying. Bottom line is that you need this beaner, if your all about having the lighest gear. I trust it to get the job done time and time again.
"Simple and effective." 02/01/12
I matched this carabiner with my ATC for belaying, and I love it. The shape of the carabiner (slight edges as opposed to rounded) increases friction when braking. The twist-lock is easy to use and tightens securely when the gate is closed. It's small size feels less cumbersome on a harness than other set-ups I have used. There are no hooks on this Biner' to snag rope when clipping and un-clipping from your belay set-up. Additional uses; twin this carabiner for a rock-solid top-rope anchor. Caveat; It's gate clearance is smaller than other locking carabiner's I have used (I'm not sure of the exact specs).
"Gets the job done and still feels great." 05/10/11
I use this carabiner for just about everything. Has stood up to a lot. (including an assortment of high drops) Feels great. Only thing upsetting is the price. You can easily find some cheaper ones elsewear.
