Minimalist fantasyGot this for an AT hike, and fell in love. It's super light in the pack, and does everything a bivy does for a fraction of the normal weight. I use this with a tarp over my head (MSR eWing), so I can leave it open. With the mesh or fully closed, it's pretty claustrophobic, so if you hate that, get the one with a pole for some head room. But when it's not buggy, I stick my head out and thank myself for the saved weight. The nanoshield is awesome stuff, soft, very light, you wouldn't think it sheds water but it really does.

Amazing Bivy!I got the regular sized and it's amazing. It packs up smaller than a regular nalgene bottle and is as light as a feather. I can't believe it doesn't let in any water, yet breathes so well. It's amazing. Worth every penny for the ultralightweight adventurer. you can easy fit a thermarest and warm sleeping bag in there and have enough room in the morning to sit up and make a cup of coffee in your lap in the morning. great stuff.

Long night through a stormWell, my first ever time using a bivy sack and leaving the tent behind of course a harsh storm rolled in. I found that it was quite claustrophobic in there, but it certainly did keep me dry. I would've opted for the hooped bivy had I known how tight this would be, but it did do the job with very little weight or size.
