I used a more basic version of these for 45-days backpacking. They were awesome and worked great for everything that I needed. One of my trip mates had this pair and I got to use his one time. They were amazing. The grips are way more comfortable than the cheap pair I got. The straps were noticeably more comfortable. I was so jealous of the springs in the handles because my hands would go numb some days after hiking over rocks for a long time. The handle is a nice bonus for river crossings, but I don't know how much that should sell you. They're really comfortable and they aren't really heavy. I'm pretty tall and these telescope up to my height. They also stopped me a few times from falling off mountains and stuff, whic would of made my trip not so rad. These poles are awesome and I would totally recommend them especially for all the features the simple telescoping design meant that even if they bent a little bit I could still put them away.
I agree with the other review. These have very high quality and are great for long distances because the shock absorbers really take a lot of the impact when walking on hard terrain.
