"These Poles Deliver - They are well worth the $$." 01/03/11
Used them a handful of times so far and I'll never go back to my old style plastic grips again. These poles are that good. Let my friend use them on one of our hikes and he kept coming up with excuses to not give them back. I had his old poles and was immediately missing mine. The angled grips are ergonomically designed and very comfortable to hold. They are honestly just a pleasure to use hiking and the speed adjustments are key. Not a thing to complain about in my book and I'm very pleased with the purchase. Moosejaw's an awesome company to buy gear from too.
"Most comfortable trek poles I've owned" 12/23/10
Suffered from blisters and skin rubbed raw with other poly handled poles. Not with these. The angled grips are sweet too. I logged about 75 miles with them so far and I know I made the right choice. I let a friend use them while hiking and as soon as I had his traditional grip poles it felt immediately awkward. I thought I was becoming too judgmental about it, but as soon as I had my poles I knew I could never go back. They are that comfortable to hold from an ergonomic perspective. They are really a pleasure to hike with and I couldn't imagine being without them. Awesome product by BD.
"The angled handles rock" 11/30/10
This is my second piece of BD gear. The ergonomic design of the angled handles is amazingly comfortable going up hill or down. The cork is soft in your hand but firm so you know it will last a long time. The poles feel great when I am planting them on the side of the mountain, with very little vibration, if any. They are super light and compact small enough to fit in my suitcase. They are also very sturdy to support my tent. I am now a huge BD fan!
"Black Diamond makes the best trekking poles!" 07/09/10
After slipping, sliding, and stumbling through the mud for the majority of a 12 mile hike, I finally decided to get trekking poles. I picked these because of the legendary Black Diamond flip-locks and the natural cork grips. I wasn’t sure how much I’d end up liking or using the poles, but quickly gained appreciation for them after a few long-distance hikes. They are invaluable on ANY uphill grade and on steep descents. Climbing hills is now a breeze with poles. The cork grips are comfortable and prevent sweaty hands from slipping. Be sure to use the wrist straps properly to get the full benefit of hiking with poles. I highly recommend these poles, especially to first-time users...
"The Best Value in Trekking Poles? I do believe so." 06/11/10
Black Diamond took their Trail trekking poles and improved them here with a cork grip that is ergonomically designed to fit your hand better. I find the grip to be super comfortable and good at keeping sweaty palm syndrome down. In typical Black Diamond fashion, these poles feature the flick lock system which in my opinion (any many others), is leaps and bounds better than any twist to lock system. When I first received the poles, the flick locks were too tight to reasonably operate. I loosened them up quite a bit with a screw driver, and then tightened them so that they were ever so slightly difficult to snap closed - but not so much so that you have to jump on the mechanism to get it shut.
