These poles have pretty much all that good poles should have. I have been using them for 3 years and have 2 pairs. One in my home town and the second one here with me in San Francisco. I did long approaches with them in Tien Shan (2 weeks round way with 40kg backpack), Altai and some another mountains in Siberia and also in California. No problem. Ever. I used Leki before. And will never switch back.Either these poles are pretty cheap if you compare them with another ones from BD (having some additional useless features which you should pay more for)
"Buy them for the Flicklocks and the light weight."
05/14/12
I bought these from Moosejaw in January. Since then, they have been strapped to my pack in Lake Tahoe, 5 separate mountains in British Columbia, and the mountains of West Virginia. The Flicklocks literally take 1 second each. They have readily supported me in all climates and the plastics in the locks held strong in all temperatures. These double as camera booms for my filming in the field and are still super light when holding them out at full length. I knocked 1 point off because they DO NOT come with rubber covers for the tips. Powder baskets are included, however, and work well in snow. I cannot say enough about how well these Flicklocks work.
