Great Basic Polesthese poles are an excellent buy! They are much more affordable than many of their $150 counterparts and still fill the same exact function, to help you navigate the back-country. They are a bit on the heavy side compared to some other poles but honestly you would never know, it's not like the fractions of ounces make a huge difference to things you will be carrying in your hand anyway, and for close to half the price I take the weight! The grips are comfortable, not luxurious, but comfortable and the black diamond flick locks are arguably the most secure locking mechanism on the market. The straps could be more comfortable but again the price justifies all of it. They are a bare bones set of poles that will handle some serious abuse without breaking the bank.

all-around good performerI'm a new trekking pole user, but I bought these and I've used them several long days already. The weight might be a little heavier than some others, but I don't know how much difference a few ounces make on your arms when using anything is better/easier than using nothing. They're more sturdy that some of the lighter and more expensive ones that I've played with. The grips are the only minor shortcoming. They're perfectly fine 90% of the time, but when I got super sweaty on a long hike on a hot summer day, I had to wipe my hands several times. I'm not sure
