"so good, you don't have to be hiking to use them..."  01/04/11

I asked for these for Xmas and my loving wife purchased them for me. Well, my back went out last Saturday and I've been using them ever since to get up off the couch, floor, bed, toilet, you name it. Sturdy enough to hoist my 175 lb. frame and easy to use. Great contoured rubber grips and great leash as well. Just don't scratch those solid wood floors with the tips...oops.

"Great Product"  10/30/10

Got these on sale the other week and have used them lightly around some local trails already. These poles do not fall short of the BD name. The locking system is solid and will support my entire fat ass (190 lb) on a descent. They are easy on your arms and knees with the shock absorption system as well. My only qualm about these poles is the fact that they don't pack up quite as short as most other BD poles. This isn't a big deal unless you're someone who needs their crap wicked compact.

"Design needs help"  10/29/10

The inability to collapse the pole in two places like most trekking poles makes for an extended length that is not easy to pack in a backpack either inside or outside. If it sticks up beyond the top of the pack, it's likely to get lost in airplane baggage storage.

"Great poles for the price"  05/24/10

These are great poles for the price. I'm 215 lbs and these things are pretty solid when descending from the peak. The FlintLock locking mechanism allow for quick adjustments and provide a solid grip for stability. The strap for your wrist is comfy, my only complaint is the plastic piece they used to attach the wrist strap to the handle. I hit it a couple of time with my hand and didn't really care for them. Overall, they are still a great set of trekking poles!

"Works well for me!"  11/01/07

Besides the fact that trekking poles are for wussies, I actually found these to be pretty helpful. Undoubtedly I find myself using these as crutches on the way down, and swinging my weight between. Just dont eat it though!
