Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gear bag I can pack a lot of my gear and it still compresses well. It can hold a 60m rope, 2 shoes, 2 harnesses, 12 quickdraws and 2 belay devices, some assorted slings and it still has room for more. ,,Packing it is very easy. Place all of your gear on the BIG tarp, roll it up, zip it up, and cinch it down with the included compression straps and move to your next route. Can't be any simpler.,,The only downside is the carrying strap. It's practically useless. It's thin with minimal padding. It hurts to haul gear for more than 20 minutes. I personally like to cinch the rope bag tight and slip it inside a bigger bag with hip straps if I need to hike to the crag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well since meeting the "bag" qualification shouldn't be too tough, although others might suck So far, this bag is quite durable, in that it's been doubling as a barefoot belayer's tarp since I bought it. When completely open, it provides a ton of surface area to put a 70m rope onto in order to keep the rope as clean as possible. All that usable area compresses very well with the pull cords on the ends and the 2 buckles in the middle, providing you a non-bulky, easy to carry bag. The 2 internal loops are a great idea to tie the rope ends to so you never have to hunt for them after reopening a packed rope. The padded shoulder strap is a nice touch to help prevent turning your neck/shoulder into a bloody mess.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from how does everyone love this thing? Yes this thing is crappy. The material is too thin and has degraded over time. Buy this if you are going to use your rope in the gym only. The benefits (like others said) are that the tarp is big. That is about it. It only has one strap so it sucks for bringing on multipitch climbs- even if you think you aren't going to take it outside, I would at least get one with two straps, like a backpack (put it on in the gym and do some laps with it?) You will be glad you got one with 2 straps when you eventually go outside. It also doesn't have anything good to clip in to really so again get another bag! This one sucks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great rope bag - easy to carry and protects my rope I like the bag and my rope can be nicely kept and separated with the tarp. Good design for carrying the rope and good protection for the rope. There is room and loops for carrying other gear which is great. However, I wish there was one zippered pocket inside for carrying a few loose items and maybe some sort of picket or attach points on the outside of the bag. I still need to carry a small backpack type bag to have all my equipment and extras. Since there is room for other gear in the bag it would be nice to have the above mentioned features to make it more convienent to carry other gear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great on paper, but only if it's used to wipe your ass... I don't know... but they've left me highly unsatisfied.,,,,the bag material is TOO thin. it's a rope bag. which means it goes where ever you go, to keep your rope safe while in travel. yeah, right. the material is thinner than my girlfriend's panties... The shoulder strap is thin and awkward, and with any decent sized rope digs in your shoulders . and worse part... the strap buckles. completely useless. I had to tie the shoulder straps into a knot to keep them from coming undone. so the company the creates harnesses to keep you from falling 100ft to the forest floor below, can't created a rock bag buckle to keep it from falling a mere 3 ft.,,,,bottom line, dont skimp out. buy something better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite rope bag I have used the metolius bags and some other random ones, but this is by far my favorite. It is extremely easy to use and is large enough for any rope. lightweight but durable so you're not carrying unnecessary weight around with you and it will fold up very small, much smaller than metolius bags. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag with a decent sized tarp I got this bag a couple of months back when I bought my first rope, a 60m Sterling 10.1 marathon. The rope fits perfectly in the bag, and I like that you can tie off either end of the rope to the bag via loops on the bag so that its less tangled and easier to find the ends when you open it up. I like the method of pack up on this bag as well, its basically a big burrito for your rope, as you zipper it up into a tube and then cinch the ends with the drawstrings and snap the straps going across the bag to compress it. Also the messenger style strap is adjustable, and not too uncomfortable when lugging it up the trail. And the tarp that folds out of the bag is big enough to keep my rope off the ground when climbing. Overall a great buy and I would recommend it in a heartbeat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT! Black Diamond seems to only make the best gear so a review saying anything else is a lie! I never leave home without my gear. And the one thing that saves my ass is my rope so I keep it as safe as I can. The Super slacker keeps it clean and easy to hall.
