The Black Diamond Storm Headlamp is a waterproof headlamp for reliable light in the backcountry. When it comes to lighting up the night, 160 lumens lead the way, all you have to do is place that comfortable stretch band around your head, resting the light upon your forehead. Turn it on and from there you can simply tap the side for quick adjustments to brightness, from a precise beam to a strobe, or maybe red light will suit you. Power up with AAA batteries and when they eventually start to run low, the power meter will let you know within 3 seconds of turning on. Slinking through the dark just got a whole lot easier, no more tripping over tree roots in the woods, that stupid flower pot on the side of the house, and stellar when the power goes out.
Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.
FEATURES of the Black Diamond Storm HeadLamp
The waterproof, multiple-mode, 160-lumen Storm is designed with PowerTap Technology, which allows fast transitioning between full and dimmed power at the tap of a finger to its touch-sensitive housing.
PowerTap Technology allows you to go from dimmed to full power and back with a simple tap of a finger tip on right side of the touch sensitive housing (Storm and Spot only).
Intuitive lock mode prevents the lamp from accidentally turning on inside your pocket or pack. Genius.
Red night-vision mode prevents you from blinding your friends and has both proximity and strobe settings, and can be activated without cycling through the normal white mode.

Great headlamp!I purchased this headlamp because my old one was not bright enough on morning trail runs. This became all to clear as I was running in the mountains in South Africa over the summer and as an in-experienced "runner in the dark" relied on those around me to light my way. If I were to go back with the BD Storm headlamp, I think I would lead the pack. I love the adjustable nature of the lighting. I also like the lock feature. I haven't backpacked with this one yet but there's nothing worse than getting to camp at the start of a 4 day trip and realizing your batteries are half gone. I hope to try this headlamp out this winter while XC skiing. My manfriend has had the same lamp for 3+ years and loved it! I can't wait to try it out in the snow!

Excellent headlampI bought this headlamp in hopes of using it for night time running and evening hiking. Not only do I use it for those practical-use activities, but I also use it as a lamp to read with at night in bed (and it's fantastic!). This headlamp has multiple settings (solid light vs. flashing light) and you are able to adjust the light's brightness/intensity. The light is able to shine pretty far ahead of my head, so I'd feel comfortable wearing this as a headlamp to bike with as well. This headlamp is also user-friendly and mildly self-explanatory (I spent < 5 minutes reading the instructions).

A good light for the price. The good; Lots of settings. Puts out a lot of light on the high setting. I like the fact thats its able to dim. The red lights are nice for reading or eating especially when there are lots of bugs flying around. ,,The bad. I had it as my back up light on a river trip. I just kept in my daypack. First time I pulled it out to use it, it had gotten damp and didn't want to work correctly. Opened it up and it had a slight amount of moisture in it. Dried it all out and installed fresh batteries and it worked great. Couple days latter I swam a small creek and it leaked again! ,,Overall it worked well. Seems to need new batteries whenever it leaks. Kind of bummer as I bought because it was supposed to be waterproof.

Everything you need in a headlampPretty awesome headlamp. Super efficient, I managed to hike the entire Appalachian Trail and only had to swap in new batteries twice. It's worth mentioning that at full battery this thing is tremendously powerful, adequate light won't be a problem. It's nice that you have two light settings plus a red light, all of which you can dim by holding down the button once they're on. If you're like me and sometimes find that your headlamp accidentally turned on in your pack there's an option to hold down the button for 5 or 6 seconds and it will lock (indicated by the LED light blinking blue on the side). Good stuff, plus its waterproof. I did find that eventually the button became hard to press, although it still worked good. I recently bought a revolt as a second headlamp and haven't had this problem.

Have had it for two years and works as new!It is very comfortable and is incredibly light. The light itself is very bright and its different functions have been incredibly useful. The waterproofing also held up great in a pretty decent downpour. The light is super bright with the option to use at 75% or 100% with a finger touch on the side of the light. You can use the dimmer to adjust it to a very low light and back to 100% with the touch of a finger. It has 3 options, bright leds, not so bright leds and the red leds. There is a dimmer function and a strobe function for a three diferent modes. The only thing worse is that it is harder to press the main button. With gloves it is very hard to know if you got your finger on it and so much force is needed with each attempt. Fumbling around gets annoying fast. Otherwise, it is good,,

A little heavy, but otherwise stellarI've been looking for the right headlamp for some time. I've tried Energizer, Princeton Tech, Mammut etc, but this one is definitely my favorite so far. After my first trip with the storm, I bought 4 more for family and friends.,,,,Pros: ,,-Plenty bright enough for night hiking on the brightest setting,,-has a red led setting if you don't want to blind your partners.,,-I love being able to lock the "on button" as I have had several headlamps with drained batteries after after they switched themselves on in my pack.,,-Waterproof, while not vital for my application, is a great feature.,,-The dimming feature is great.,,,,Cons:,,-All those features make it weigh a little bit more than other headlamps,,-Requires four AAAs instead of the standard three,,-May be overkill for most applications,,

Love!I bought this headlamp a year ago to use in a team race for our over night runs. We had a van of 6 people and three different headlamps, this was the only one we used. It stayed put while running and was able to light up everything we needed. We always knew who our runner was because of the headlamp was so bright. It also holds up very well as we had the headlamp floating around the floor of the van and it never broke when we stepped on it. Looking to get another for this years run.

Worth the price.I came to this sight to by my third light. I bought one last year and liked it so much I bought one for my wife. We like them so much I came back to buy a spare. I use the light daily. I have horses and dogs that I care for very early in the morning and after dark in the evening. It gets used for cleaning, stalls and kennels as well as inspecting the animals while doing chores. The flood works great for walking in the woods, herding horses or when I go out deer hunting. The red light works great for not scaring deer when walking to a stand. The spot light is bright enough to use when doing close work that needs to be well light or looking for horses in a large pasture. I have also used it for tracking blood trails while hunting. Best light for the money. If you are looking for a good all around light without breaking the bank, this is a good choice
