The Black Diamond Spot Headlamp is a waterproof headlamp for backpacking and camping in all-weather situations. The waterproof rating of IPX8 allows this headlamp to operate up to 1.1 meters underwater for 30 minutes. That means you will have plenty of time to set up camp in the dark, even if the rains are pouring down upon you. Not all adventures are highlighted with perfect weather. The TriplePower LED and two SinglePower LEDs (one white, one red) provide 200 lumens of light for getting around in the dark. Set up the tent, cook dinner, or just hang out. Just because the sun sets doesn't mean you have to, light up the night.
FEATURES of the Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Good specs, but quality issuesI loved the features of the 2016 Spot, so I left my favorite headlamp brand to try this model instead. It worked great right out of the box, but only for about 3 minutes. Soon only the red LED would come on, and it wouldn't even stay lit. I tried fresh new batteries, but no difference. From reading some other reviews, this problem is not widespread, but it happens. Personally, I am sending it back, and I would recommend testing this headlamp for quite a while before trusting it out in the woods as your main source of light.

ExcellentHere's the 4-1-1: I had read reviews of the previous model of this headlamp, and it was said on a review website that you get the Black Diamond Storm basically if you want a waterproof version of the Spot. Well, the Spot is now IPX8, so unless you just want an additional feature of the Storm's green light (but read about it to check battery comparison and other things), you can save money and just get the Spot. I chose Matte Black, and am satisfied with it. If you've never used a Black Diamond headlamp, they include instructions on how to switch modes and lock the light. It takes some getting use to, but now that I've got the hang of it, I am not switching to a different brand. I have also used the Icon, which is my favorite headlamp, but due to an old back and neck injury, and a current pinched nerve in my back, I decided to go with the Spot due to it not having a big battery pack on the back. Takes 3 AAA batteries (included). I wish the strap were easier to adjust, but after a few minutes I figured it out. The band design has spots all over it (also on the Storm) which I don't really care for, but the light is great, and it has a red light mode and flashing mode, so if you see the ice cream truck at night, the driver will know you want what they're selling. I'm worried about the hinge on the battery cover breaking eventually, but only time will tell.

Product really shinesOne of the best headlamps I've owned. Very bright and certainly light enough for the power you're getting. Very comfortable. The controls are fairly simple, read the instructions and the lock feature is great. Some peopl My only gripe would be that I wish it had a usb port for recharging. Or make the ReVolt headlamp with more power. One last thing, if you aren't shopping as moose jaw you're missing out.

Super bright! Large button easy to use.I purchased this a few weeks ago and can now make fun of my friends who have the wimpy 70 lumen headlamps (or God forbid they use their cell phone). Works great use it for climbing, late night hike outs, and camping.

Nice HeadlightNice Headlight. Really Bright. I really like that it has a red light. My only complaint is that the controls aren't very intuitive.
