"This is above and beyond any headlamp I have ever used!!" 01/22/12
There is no other headlamp that one needs or flash light! The strap is nylon elastic with the ability to adjust it to any size. Its comfortable and soft. The head unit is sealed nicely especially for those rainy nights, it never leaks! The light is super bright and has a dimmer for each of the main light settings. WHAT! yes i said it a dimmer on a head lamp! and there's nothing like a red soft light to light the way but not blind everyone! and don't forget the party with the strobe light! oh and by the way the battery life on it is ridiculous! and that's ridiculous in a good way, as in super long! and I love all the different colors available. Look no further this is the best!
"Tons of light, great battery life" 12/22/11
It's a headlamp, and it works all the time. Compared to other lamps out there it puts out a LOT of light when using the right setting, and no battery pack! The only downsides I can find with this lamp are the size and the need to cycle through the settings. While not huge, the body of the headlamp is large enough to bounce around a bit if you try to run with it, and the one button used to switch settings can be touchy sometimes. Other than that, great headlamp!
"Perfect combo of lights." 12/13/11
This headlamp has everything I need. It's got a nice bright main lamp, good secondary lamps, and even red lamps to prevent loosing night vision. The button is easy to use even with gloves (relatively thin gloves) and the battery life is excellent.
"You Need This Headlamp!" 12/04/11
This is the first BD headlamp I have purchased:it's nearly flawless. The weight is light, but not so much that it feels cheaply made. It's a solid piece of equipment.I've dropped it,splashed it,and squished it under 40 lbs of equipment without a problem The spot light mode is extremely bright.Changing the modes between spot, flood, and red light, is simple and takes little time to master.Clicking the button a 3x fast reveals the strobe mode(either white or red)which I'm sure would get someone's attention if they were within a couple hundred yards.I have not experienced any of the problems mentioned by the others. Its bright, its light,Its durable, and it gives you alot of options.
"Yeah, you need one" 11/26/11
This headlamp is amazing. I have had this, petzel and princeton tec headlamps, and this one blows the others out of the water. There is nothing wrong with the others, but the red lights have saved my vision more times than I can count while navigating at night or trying to find something in the tent after dark. The headlamp is also light and extremely bright on the high power setting. If your looking for a headlamp, I highly suggest picking this one.
"Best bang for the buck" 10/19/11
This is my second BD spot and I am completely convinced that this is the all around best headlight on the market. The battery life is great, its lightwieght, and has plenty of power behind it for anything you may run into. 90% of my hikes are at night and the spot does more than just get the job done and all for under $40.
"Bright light!" 10/14/11
My husband has a headlamp just like this one and I had headlamp envy because my old headlamp wasn't as nice as his. So it was time for me to upgrade. We used this headlamp for hiking at night and wild caving...and it's great for my husband when he has projects around the house because now I don't have to hold the flashlight anymore. The battery compartment is kind of tricky until you get th hang of it. I really wanted the blue one, but was afraid the white light housing would get dirty/stained after caving, so I stuck with the black one. I'm very happy with my new headlamp. Wish I would have ordered one sooner.
"Lots of Modes and Super Comfy Strap" 08/18/11
Saved us a few times while traveling. It is comfortable and while the buttons are a bit confusing at first, one you have it down it really works well. You can really extend the life of the 3 AAA batteries by adjusting to the right setting.
"Excellent" 07/04/11
I took this to Colorado and it worked great while at the camp and on the trail in early mornings. I actually have gotten the chance to use this as a household item... When you are searching for things in the far back corner of your attic, bring this baby out and you'll see clear as day! Battery life is decent, just don't have it on bright around camp. The other two LED's are plenty for around camp. It fits well, and never moved while I was climbing.
"Lasted for a month in Africa with no battery change." 06/22/11
Just got home from a month long Safari in South Africa and I used this daily. Never had to change the batteries and it has been a huge help for late night bathroom trips. It is super bright, but all of the possible settings are nice. You need this if you're buying a headlamp.
"Works for the noctural runner" 06/18/11
Sometimes, runs have to wait until work is done. Unless you are Spider-man with night vision, this little guy helps avoid potholes, ditchs, and pedestrians on late-night escapes around town or country. I don't know how many times I've seen a crag at the last minute and avoided losing a limb. My sister says I am a huge dork to use one, but it nearly replaced all of my need for a regular flashlight. Varying intensity is good if it's not that dark or if you need to save battery
