"Strong and Reliable" 12/03/11
I have had these poles for two years now and have about 100 miles on them and they have never failed me. I way 200+ with my pack and I can pole vault down any mountain with these. The grips are a great ergonomic shape too with the double grip that has the old classic stick style grip right below the other grip. They get plenty long, I have a friend who is 6'4" and he has plenty of length when he uses them. They have available long tips and big powder baskets for use in the snow.I would highly highly recommend these to anybody looking for a fail proof strong reliable pole. Black Diamonds locking system is far superior to anything else available!!!
"They say stix take pressure off the legs but never mention the extra effort used by the arms" 03/11/11
My partner and I both used these on our recent trip on the Milford Track in New Zealand. After doing the Overland track in Tasmania with another brand of poles I was willing to spend the money and get a pair that were easy to adjust whilst on the move. Also having the extended grip meant less adjustments.
"Fantastic Poles!" 09/21/08
These are solid, top-of-the-line trekking poles. They can easily take all of my weight (185 lbs), the grips are comfortable, the locking-switch is easily (quick) to switch and has not yet slipped on me. They have got me up and down some steap climbs, and I'm looking forward to using them on some +5000m peaks... Overall, I give these poles the highest recommendation.
"Great poles, elliptical design is extremely strong." 06/26/08
I took these poles on a 107 mile trek in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains at Philmont Scout Ranch, and they performed flawlessly. Just make sure that if you loosen the locks, that you tighten them back. If you don't, and then lock them, it'll shorten itself slowley with use.
"great poles" 06/15/07
These are the first trekking poles I have ever owned but, I can't imagine anything better. The grips and padded webbing are super comfortable and the grip extension comes in handy on steep climbs. After I sprained my knee I was looking for something to prevent it from happening again and these gave me a lot of support. Plus the orange, silver, and black design looks really cool.
