"Good poles"  05/18/10

I never thought that I would like hiking with a pole, but after a few miles and I got used to the cadence of walking with it I felt that I was able to relieve a lot of the pressure on my knees and body. This model is light and the grip is designed to offer many unconventional gripping options. Going up and down the trail, this pole makes my hikes more enjoyable and shares the stresses throughout my body instead of just on my knees.

"Broke on the last day at Philmont"  06/29/09

Good to go through most of the hike....80 plus miles, but on the last desent they broke....still trying to figure out what went wrong. Did not fall, just planted it and snap.....

"Life saver"  06/16/09

after a hard backpacking trip, these saved my life. my friends' knees were shot after slanted trails and going down hill while mine were fine. They work great while crossing streams.

"Light weight and sturdy"  04/13/09

I took these trekking poles with me to Denali. They worked wonderfully - both for helping me walk and for anchoring my tent. Near the end of the trip one of them fell into a crevasse. When I got home Black Diamond was more than happy to sell me a single one instead of making me buy a new set.The handles are fairly comfortable, although for long trips I usually need to wear gloves.

"Solid"  01/07/09

Used these on a trip to Yosemite. 60 miles over 7 days and a 50+ lb. pack and they didn't fail me at all. They are light weight and the locking mechanism is solid and can be adjusted on the fly. Couldn't have imagined not having these sum-b!tches on the trip. They made creek crossings, rock hopping, and overall hiking a lot better.Additional uses:Drying clothesSword fighting

"Don't beat your self when life can be better!!!, and more stable."  03/17/08

Great trekking poles very stiff and durable. Love them tons. Poles save knees and can take some stress off back for better proformance over uneven terrain. I highly recomend a pair if you don't own a pair yet. Adds some weight but it's like walking with four legs instead of two. They can save your balance if you otherwise loose it on two legs.
