I use this bag at the gym, and it's perfect for my small hands. I got it in medium and wouldn't want it any smaller. I'd say steer clear of the small size unless you've got tiny hands or you're getting it for a kid. The rim stays wide open when climbing, and it cinches up tight when you're done--no chalk spills. It comes with a paracord belt, which works fine for me, but you might consider getting a nicer belt if you don't want to have to tie/untie it all the time or if you have a larger waist (it's not especially long.) The carabiner loop is really wide, so be advised that if you plan to attach it to your harness that way, you'll need a full-size 'biner.

I got this bag to use at the gym, and it has worked great for me. I got the medium bag, and it's perfect for my small hands, but I definitely wouldn't want it any smaller. I'd say go with the large bag if you have average-sized hands, and if you have large hands, well, this bag probably isn't for you. The fleece lining keeps down the dust, and this bag seals up tight at the end of the day. It comes with a paracord belt that works fine for me, but you might consider buying a nicer belt if you don't want to deal with tying and untying it. The carabiner loop for it is large, so be advised that if you plan to attach it to your harness this way, you'll need a full-size 'biner to do it.
If you're just getting into rock climbing, Black Diamond offers a cheap affordable alternative to chalk bags. They get the job done.When you climb a lot they just aren't big enough; they don't hold enough chalk and me having big hands, it's a chore to chalk up.If you intend to climb a lot, I would highly recommend a Prana or Arcteryx chalk bag. You pay a little more, but much more worth it, plus they look better
The chalk bag is a little bit small for my hand and the closure works decently but chalk dust does get out. The gym I climb at requires a chalk bag and with the amount of space that takes up it's hard to get my whole palm in there. At the same time, it was cheap and it does most of the job. Think it would work better with loose chalk though.
The Black Diamond print Chalk Bag, has made my chalking expeariance much easier when climbing, with a medium size opening i can get my hand in and out with little to no problems.

in the display photo it shows four different chalk bags, and in the description it implies that your getting "chalk bags", meaning multiple. i really was interested in the canvas chalk bag but got the gray polyurethane bag. still like it but it would be best if the site could offer which one the customer could get.

I am a small guy with small hands (let the jokes roll) and I got a medium. Great for what it is. It's basic and has a nice stiff rim to let you get your hand in... yea I said it you can get a whole fist in that rim.
