"A Real solid crash pad! Perfect for any type of boulder problem." 01/05/11
Love this pad!! Sturdy construction allows terrain differences to be covered with ease. Rubberized bottom makes pad durable, water resistant, cleaner, and able to stay on inclined surfaces (key on some problems). Quality foam.
"Great pad to use on any trip, as long as you have the car space. A bit pricey, but worth it." 11/24/10
I bought this primarily as a 'base pad' more so that a high ball pad. When combined with another one like the 'Dropzone' or 'Satelite' you will have all you need for most bouldering problems. Two awesome points about this pad, apart from the dimensions of course is;1-the 'hang-bag' straps which allows you to squeeze pass those all-to-common gaps between boulders or trees which would be almost impossible to get through with this thing on your back.B-the pad is surprisingly light, and not as soft as I thought it would be. This is awesome cause you don't want something that's going to collapse on you, or something you're going to bottom out on when you take a fall.
"Love it!" 07/08/09
I have the slightly older model but I think it's pretty much the same. It's gread for solo bouldering if you're worried about going off route and missing you're pad. Also, as already mentioned, great for hi-ball problems. It's also nice to sleep on =)Only downside is the size. It's about 3' x 4' folded up on your back. Makes narrow passages a little inconvenient. But it's a small price to play for the added safety.
